SWIFT MESSI scored another win at his beloved Hove taking his career total to 23 wins at the sea-side track! The September 2009 son of Hondo Black has raced more than 150 times but still retains his competitive spirit and he disputed the lead throughout in the D2 Sprint at 11-28. Sent off the 9/4 favourite ‘Lionel’ never knows when he’s beat and battled hard for a short head verdict over the Jason Heath trained runner-up Dacent Hazard. Owned by The Glum Sinners Swift Messi clocked 16.73 (Normal) over the 285 metre trip. Kennel mate On Your Lonesome held every chance when clocking 16.86 (Normal) when finishing in 4th place two lengths behind the winner. Abbeys Zenyatta was slow away and beaten four lengths by her kennel mate. She clocked 17.02 (Normal) finishing in 6th place.
How Our Other Runners Fared
Miss McCann was sent off a 14/1 chance for the A4 at 11-11 but she was crowded at the third bend and clocked 30.94 (Normal) when finishing 6th beaten four lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Liosgarbh Maybe.
Princess Pati led from the first bend to the third before she suffered crowding in the A4 at 12-12. She finished two and a half lengths behind the Jason Heath trained winner Knight Magic clocking 30.74 (-20) 30.54 calculated in 4th place.
Speak Out Lilly was bumped and fell in a rough A5 at 12-58. She was beaten a distance and will be fully checked over when returning to the kennels. The race was won by Newtown Skiprose who is trained by Paul Garland.
