28th/29th preview…
Wendy (Hanover Lady) looks likely to get a clear to the first bend from the rails pitch in the 9.45 (A2) on Friday. A tussle with the five-dog may ensue but we can be hopeful that Wendy may hold off that youngster whilst also repelling any late surges from the stayers in the race. She’s every chance – fingers crossed.
Oscar (Lima Oscar) has a similar task to last week, contesting the 9.00 (A3) at Plough Lane on Saturday. He’ll need things to go his way though benefits from the ‘stripes’ draw with a slow starter on his inside. That said, there are a couple of classy stayers (traps four and five) in the race, and an improving sort in trap two.
The 10.30 (A2) on Saturday looks to have the makings of a scrappy affair. Gino (Horse Outside) has a tough task unless he can secure a decent early pitch which, unfortunately, isn’t our lads’ forte. It’s a ‘fingers crossed’ job, dependent on whether he can get round the first bend untroubled. There’s class in the race so he has plenty on his plate without a clear run. On the other hand if he benefits from others finding trouble he could easily nick the contest.
It’s Wimbledon Owners Night on Friday so trophies for connections of all races so long as they are members – the club is a member, so no worries there.
There’s a cracking A1 with club-member owned performers Coolavenny Rock and Rally Town pitched in against Cloheena Cash – a mouth watering clash of the titans. An event to savour.

Norah also has a leading chance to pick up a decent prize at Peterborough on Saturday night. Zodiac Zeus contests a £2,000 Final over their standard distance.
Veteran Pigalle Star has a favourite’s chance in the £1,000 Final of a sprint event. She landed her heat on Wednesday in the fastest time of the year at the track from an unfavourable four pitch. She lines up in her favoured red jacket on Saturday. At 2-1 or better, she’s worth an interest.
