BUT THERE ARE STILL SOME GOOD PERFORMANCES AND FAST TIMES!
Saturday 3rd May HOVE Report (All races Going: Normal)
Clocking 30.06 would win an A2 most times at Hove but Athlacca Olympic had to settle for 3rd place in the the A2 at 9-57 on Saturday night after the Ken Tester trained Ardbeg Champ clocked a very fast 29.87 over the 515 metres. Athlacca Olympic held every chance and equalled his personal best time (30.06) when beaten just over two lengths!
Lochys Blue Boy was up against some decent ‘Open’ class rated opposition in the D1 sprint at 9-41 and despite finishing 4th he showed he has the ‘class’ to make it at that level. The Paul Garland trained Solid Fairy clocked 16.32 when winning the race but Lochys Blue Boy was not disgraced clocking 16.44 just one and a half lengths behind the winner after holding every chance!
Droopys Winnie had beaten Droopys Leonard in a trial on Monday but it was on the cards that ‘Lenny’ could reverse that form as he was returning from injury. That was the outcome in the A4 at 8-34 but neither of our runners could match the 30.31 clocked by the Wayne Wrighting trained winner River Trail. The Racing Club owned Droopys Leonard held every chance when clocking 30.57 in 3rd place beaten just over three lengths. While his kennel mate Droopys Winnie clocked 30.75 after a slow start finishing a further two lengths back in 4th place.
Glenvale Rosie is pretty consistent in her class and ran another sound race when runner-up in the A10 at 8-02. She didn’t help her cause with a slow break but ran on well to clock 31.03 when beaten just under four lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Kerrys Sally.
Collinstown View had found trouble in running in his previous race and connections were hoping for a clear run in the A3 at 10-13. Sadly they didn’t get it as Collinstown View was slow away and badly baulked at the first bend! He was unable to recover and finished 5th clocking 30.48 around six lengths behind the Claude Gardiner trained winner Droopys Nadine who clocked a fast 29.98 on the normal going.
