HOVE WINS FOR ‘ATHLACCA OLYMPIC’ AND ‘LEATHEMS DESIRE’
Wednesday 26th November HOVE Report
Winners
Athlacca Olympic – 6 Wins at Hove!
ATHLACCA OLYMPIC ran well on his comeback last week, after a five months lay off through injury, where he was beaten three lengths after tiring late on. On the back of that run the August 2011 son of Black Shaw was sent off 5/2 joint favourite for the A4 at 2-27. He justified those odds with a stylish win beating the Wayne Wrighting trained Woodmancote Jet by a length and a quarter! Owned by Julie Hillier Athlacca Olympic was soon into stride and led all the way clocking 30.54 (-20) 30.34 calculated when winning for the 6th time at Hove! Irish wins at Shelbourne Park and Drumbo Park make up his 8 career wins!
LEATHEMS DESIRE is going the right way and the young pup looks a nice prospect for the future! The June 2013 son of Head Bound out of the dam Miss Bright bred by Larry Clancy in County Meath, Ireland won a D2 sprint in October and he has competed in the highest sprint grade since! Owned by the Norah Mac Racing Club he was sent off the 5/4 favourite for the D1 sprint at 4-08 and won in brilliant fashion beating the Seamus Cahill trained Guinness Master by three and a quarter lengths! ‘Winston’ was quick away and led from the first bend clocking an impressive 16.49 (-5) 16.44 calculated when winning for the 2nd time at Hove. With plenty of improvement still to come Club members have lots to look forward to with this exciting youngster who’s victory gave the Racing Club their 109th winner! Kennel mate Zara Two held every chance finishing in 3rd place. He clocked 16.79 (-5) 16.74 calculated when beaten just under four lengths by the winner.
How Our Other Runners Fared
Release The Ace came very close to giving the kennel a treble! He was beaten just a short head in the A6 at 4-27 when pipped by the Wendy Short trained Fairy Island. A 7/1 chance Release The Ace was baulked at the second bend but ran on well clocking 30.88 (-10) 30.78 calculated in 2nd place.
Our two runners in the opening D2 sprint each got into a bit of trouble. Sizzlers Swallow was sent off the 5/2 favourite but a slow start and first bend crowding ruined his chance and he finished in 5th place clocking 17.07 (-10) 16.97 calculated three and a half lengths behind the race winner Coolavanny Trigg who is trained by Dean Childs. Farloe Scolari fared the better of our pair when he finished in 3rd place, despite crowding on the run-in, clocking 16.93 (-10) 16.83 calculated just under two lengths behind the winner.

EIGHT RUNNERS ON THE FRIDAY MORNING HOVE CARD!
Friday 28th November HOVE Runners
Miss McCann was a beaten favourite last time out but she should run well in the A4 at 10-53 if she can avoid trouble in running.
Hands Over Eyes could not take advantage of the drop in grade on his latest run. He found all sorts of trouble in running as did his kennel mate Droopys Bertha. They finished 3rd and 6th respectively in that race and connections will be hoping for clear runs for the pair in the A7 at 12-08.
Judicial Babe is running well and was only beaten a neck by her kennel mate Baby Sky when 2nd on her latest outing. She should have a good chance in the A6 at 12-57.
Baby Sky – Winner last time!
Baby Sky is up in grade for her win last Sunday. Coolscart Hawk is in good form and like his kennel mate will be staying on strongly in the A5 at 1-27.
Mikeys Guest – Gets a drop in grade!
Mikeys Guest will appreciate the drop in grade for the A7 at 1-44.
Ballymac Benefit ran better for the drop in grade last time out and should go well in the A8 at 1-58.
Runners
MISS McCANN, HANDS OVER EYES, DROOPYS BERTHA, BABY SKY, COOLSCART HAWK, MIKEYS GUEST, BALLYMAC BENEFIT, JUDICIAL BABE
