Sunday 8th February 2015  –  HOVE Report

Swift Messi was sent off the 5/2 second favourite for the D2 Sprint at 11-11 but his chance was soon gone when he stumbled at the start. ‘Lionel’ was unable to recover the lost ground and was beaten seven lengths by the Paul Garland trained winner Gallarus Bridge. Swift Messi clocked 17.45 (-15) 17.30 calculated when finishing in 6th place.

Mineola Prof was made 7/4 favourite to take advantage of the drop in grade for the A4 at 12-27. Crowding at the first bend and at the 1/4 mark prevented a win but he did well to finish 3rd to the Derek Knight trained winner Maireads Wish. Mineola Prof clocked 30.95 (-40) 30.55 calculated when beaten two and three quarter lengths by the winner.

Cellini found plenty of trouble in the A6 at 12-41. She made a good start but was crowded at the first and third bends and again on the run-in! Cellini clocked 31.31 (-40) 30.91 calculated when beaten four lengths by the Jason Heath trained winner Swift Nemo and finished in 4th place.

The Racing Club’s Classy Molly finished in 5th place but didn’t run too badly in the A7 at 12-58. ‘Molly’ clocked 31.47 (-40) 30.07 calculated when beaten just over three lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Tyrur Celena.
