Winners
DROOPYS RIVES (kennel name: River) had gone well in his trials and showed a good attitude on his debut run despite being beaten eight lengths! He ran well to finish 2nd last time and got off the mark today in fine style winning the D1 Sprint at 12-27 by almost two lengths when beating the Derek Knight trained Maketherounds. Sent off the 6/4 favourite the July 2013 son of Westmead Hawk owned by the River Seven Syndicate showed good early pace to the bend and once in front was always going to be difficult to pass. He pulled away in the home straight to clock 16.55 (-15) 16.40 calculated for his first Hove win.
ANMIMA MADAM made it a ‘double’ for the kennel when winning the A9 at 12-41. The January 2013 daughter of Forest Master soon led and stayed on well to hold off the challenge of Birthday Boy trained by Marie Collins by a Short-Head! Owned by Mike and Martin McKinley Anmima Madam was sent off the 5/2 joint favourite and clocked 30.92 (-30) 30.62 calculated when winning for the 2nd time at Hove.
How Our Other Runners Fared
Windy Warrior was going the right way until injury forced a lengthy absence but he showed he’s ready to pick up again when running 2nd in the A9 at 12-58. Sent off the 5/2 favourite Windy Warrior clocked 31.05 (-30) 30.75 calculated when beaten just under three lengths by the Doreen Walsh trained winner January Bride.
Watch Matt held every chance in the D2 Sprint at 1-12 and was beaten just a length by the Ken Tester trained winner Due A Change. Watch Matt clocked 17.05 finishing in 2nd place! Kennel mate Abbeys Zenyatta was badly baulked at the first bend and clocked 17.44 (-15) 17.29 calculated when beaten six lengths in 6th place.
Cellini ran into a fair bit off trouble in the A6 at 1-28. She was crowded at the first and third bends and again on the run-in! She did well to finish in 3rd place two and a half lengths behind the Seamus Cahill trained winner Ionic Impact. Cellini clocked 31.24 (-40) 30.84 calculated.
