‘DROOPYS TEQUILA’ OPENS HER HOVE ACCOUNT!

Wednesday 15th April 2015  –  HOVE Report

Winner

DROOPYS TEQUILA got off the mark in style today when winning the A5 at 2-27 by almost two lengths! The September 2013 daughter of Droopys Scolari had gone very well in her trials and on debut was pitched in at A3 grade. That is tough on a young pup trying to gain race experience and she has benefited from the drops in grade she has since received. A good run last time had advertised her chance here and she made no mistake! Sent off the 5/2 favourite she showed good early pace and took up the running at the 3/4 mark going on to beat Beara Hawk the Claude Gardiner trained runner-up by one and threequarter lengths! Owned by Trevor Cooper, Dave Staddon and Ray Wheeler Droopys Tequila clocked 30.83 (-20) 30.63 calculated when winning for the first time at Hove and will improve further!

How Our Other Runners Fared

The veteran Swift Messi ran well again in the D2 Sprint at 2-08 and despite crowding on the run-in he stayed on well to finish 2nd when beaten one and a half lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Guinness Solo. ‘Lionel’ was a 5/1 chance and clocked 16.75 (-10) 16.65 calculated in the runners-up spot! Kennel mate Ballymac Dainty was baulked on the run-in and although our 8/1 chance finished in 6th place she was only beaten three lengths by the winner clocking 16.87 (-10) 16.77 calculated.

Windy Warrior was a little unlucky in the A8 at 2-47. Sent off at odds of 4/1 he was making his challenge at the 3/4 mark when forced to check wide. He was then baulked on the run-in and finished 3rd to the Jason Heath trained winner April Ali. Windy Warrior clocked 30.97 (-20) 30.77 calculated when beaten one and a half lengths by the winner!

When Mineola Prof gets a clear run he clocks fast times! Unfortunately he has not been getting a clear run lately and that pattern continued today in the A3 at 3-07 when the ‘Prof’ was baulked at the first bend! The Dave Staddon owned 5/1 chance clocked 30.84 (-20) 30.64 calculated when finishing in 4th place beaten just over five length by the Wayne Wrighting trained winner Millbrook Star.

Lobelia had won her last two races and was made a 5/1 chance when up in grade for the A7 at 4-27. She suffered crowding at the 1/4 mark and clocked 31.14 (-20) 30.94 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten six lengths by the Doreen Walsh trained winner Rustic Charm.

The Norah Mac Racing Clubs Classy Molly was sent off the 3/1 co favourite of ‘four’ for the tightly graded A9 at 4-47. Crowded at the first bend and baulked at the 3/4 mark ‘Molly’ was beaten just over six lengths by the winner Rabbits Precious who is trained by Doreen Walsh. Classy Molly clocked 31.23 (-20) 31.03 calculated when finishing in 3rd place.

EIGHT RUNNERS ON THE FRIDAY AFTERNOON HOVE CARD!

Friday 17th April 2015  –  HOVE Runners

We have two runners in the opening D2 Sprint at 2-08. Millroad Jessy held every chance on her last outing and should run well. Princess Jetta didn’t help her cause when making a slow start on her latest run. She could get involved with a smart break!

It was not a bad run from Glaise Socks to finish 3rd on his debut considering he suffered crowding! The March 13 son of Hondo Black will improve for that experience and runs in the A4 at 2-47.

Swift Debbie has been struggling to get a clear run recently! More than capable on her day the 15 times winner needs a trouble free run in the A7 at 3-07.

Greyhound_Watch_Matt-_2big

Watch Matt  – Needs a bit of luck!

Watch Matt is on a long losing run but has gone close on a couple of occasions recently! A repeat of his run when clocking 16.66 on the 29th March would give him every chance in the D2 Sprint at 4-08.

Mist Of Time was beaten a short-head on her latest run in this grade and the May 13 daughter of Droopys Scolari should have every chance in the A8 at 4-27.

Fanore Breeze has won two of her last four races but found it harder when upped to D1 grade for the first time! Fairhill Frankie was beaten in a Wimbledon Sprint Open race last Saturday! Both our runners must avoid any hold-ups in the D1 Sprint at 5-07.

Runners

MILLROAD  JESSY,     PRINCESS  JETTA,     GLAISE  SOCKS,     SWIFT  DEBBIE,     WATCH  MATT,      MIST  OF  TIME,      FANORE  BREEZE,      FAIRHILL  FRANKIE

Trap  6  GLENMORAY  (W)                      Richard Rees

Good to see KIZI returning to action after three months out through injury. He last raced on the 15th January at Hove but did a fair trial here last Wednesday when clocking 16.30 sec. over the 273 Metres. Brinkleys Miami sets the standard for the Wimbledon 273 Sprint Open race having clocked an excellent 16.03 sec. in a sprint Open win at Wimbledon last Saturday when beating Griffin Park who clocked a decent 16.21 sec.
