After many months of regular, busy weekends it looks like the club is in for a relatively quiet spell runners-wise.

Wendy (Hanover Lady) is fit and well and contests an A3 on Saturday (9.45pm). There’s plenty of pace in this race but Wendy has the benefit of the rails which she loves.  Recently downgraded, Exciting Ant in the six box will surely be prominent in the early exchanges so fingers crossed that Wendy secures a trouble free run and lasts home better than the wide seed.

The rest of our cannine team are out of action: Oscar Lima (Oscar) is recovering well from a bug and should be grading back in a couple of weeks, *Horse Outside is well in himself but on anti-biotics so will be at least a month off the track. Woody (Fleetwood Rocker), as reported, will not be back for a couple of  months as he convalesces following his toe operation.*

*Please check out 24/2 update for correction to Horse Outside’s wellbeing. Apologies for the cross wires and incorrect information

Nevertheless there’s still plenty going on club-wise; we’ve a trip to Sheffield Greyhound Sales (March 4th) coming up – who knows what will happen there! March 10th features our F.A.B. (First Anniversary Bash) night in the restaurant. This is now fully booked with a n hundred members and guests paid up and booked in. We sponsor a race and will have a free raffle on the night.

If you’ve not yet booked then go through central reservations and ask to be added to the Norah Mac group (space allowing in the restaurant). Also let Debbie know in case we have any late cancellations and space becomes available.

Don’t forget to book your place for the Wimbledon Owners Annual Awards and Dinner at Reigate Manor Hotel on May 6th.  It’s a great night and places are strictly limited and likely to be sold out by mid-April, if not before.  The club is sponsoring an award so, one way or another, we’ll be in the thick of the fun.

The Owners Lounge at the kennels continues to benefit from upgrading.  Imminently we will have a fixed notice board – feel free to use it for club/dog/member related notices.  Also Jack has kindly donated a magazine rack – check it out for the latest Greyhound Star publication which has fresh front page news regarding the future of Wimbledon Stadium. Please do not take the paper away from the kennels in order that as many people as possible can get a chance of reading it, and any other periodical put out.
