Norah is organising with Hove management something of a ‘Seaside Summer Soiree’  for Saturday July 7th.

More details to follow but this will be a chance to meet up with old friends and new, support the kennel and the club at our new seaside home.  PUT THE DATE IN YOUR DIARY – and why not make a day of it by taking in the sea air beforehand.

Review

Last week provided a club highlight as Lenny (Droopys Leonard) stormed home in his A2, smashing the 30.00 sec barrier in the process and producing a sizzling 4.09 sectional. A great purchase by Norah on behalf of the club and a wonderful prospect for the future.

Whilst club rep Wendy (Hanover Lady) couldn’t get her head in front in Sunday’s sprint there was much whooping and hollering amongst club members who, given their connection to kennel runners in the race, landed a jackpot trio of over £117 to a 50p unit stake! Well done Krystyna and (allegedly) the Reynolds’ crew!

Woody (Fleetwood Rocker) appears over his bout of sickness and will be trialling back in soon (no trials on Bank Holiday Monday so it may be a little longer than normal).

Lenny (Droopys Leonard) gets due reward for some cracking recent runs with a shot at the £500 to the Final winner A2 sweepstake Heat Two on Wednesday at 4.08pm.  First three from the heats on Wednesday go through. Our boy has something to do to avoid the ‘fast-up’ five-dog who is also seeded wide – but must be odds on to reach the final if getting anything close to a trouble free round.

The following event on Wednesday’s afternoon BAGS card has Wendy (Hanover Lady) lining up for her sixth race in May. This in the D1 at 4.27pm. A decent break – this week from the blue box – puts her in with every chance.

Friday’s lunchtime BAGS card has Oscar (Lima Oscar) contesting another A6, at 1227pm.  On recent performances it’s hard to get particularly excited about his chance.  Our boy seems to becoming a little canny in his runs (who can blame him?).  Nonetheless, it’s difficult to ever write off his chance as he’s more than capable and there, seemingly, are no stars in the line up.

Lenny (Droopys Leonard) successfully progressed to Saturday’s £500 Owners Bonus Final with a decent second to the ‘pinging’ Britania Lesley in Wednesday’s heat.  The pair are again drawn in six and five respectively. Lenny will need to ping himself and hope that the five-dog doesn’t break quite as smartly. A clear run and an early lead gives Lenny a respectable chance in a valuable contest.  Fingers crossed!
