No luck for club runners last week though Lenny (Droopys Leonard) added a decent wedge to the bank balance, picking up £100 ‘run money’ for contesting the A2 Owners Trophy Final. He was pretty unlucky in the final as, following the fastest break, he was forced wide at the first bend by the eventual winner Britania Lesley in trap five – the opponent who beat him in the heat and a very useful sort in his own right.
The kennel, however, is now finding it’s feet and had a fair selection of winners over the last weekend. Many of which were owned by club members. Some were savouring the Sussex seaside venue for the first time and there were no complaints, with many smiling faces on show Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime.
Ellen (Droopys Ellen) had her first look in a trial spin last Friday, posting something over 31.71 on a .40 slow track. Early days and heres to a safe and healthy career to our brindle.
Woody (Fleetwood Rocker) has had a minor setback so is still on anti-biotics. Norah reports the new medication is proving successful and hopefully Woody will be back to the track later in June.

No excuses for Oscar (Lima Oscar) last week and he gets another chance to redeem his reputation on Wednesday’s BAGS card in the A6 at 5.38pm.
Friday’s lunchtime BAGS card offers two highlights for the club – with Lenny (Droopys Leonard) contesting the feature event – an A2 at 12.58pm. Whilst Horse (Horse Outside) returns to Nevill Road to run in the 13.58pm an A4.
The first-named faces a couple of classy sorts but does benefit from sole wide position in a heat which looks likely to provide a clear run to the bend. There’s potential for some traffic problems which, should Lenny have secured an advantage, add further credibility to his chance. Fingers crossed!!
In the finale, Horse will need to be sharp and have some luck to secure a clear run in a very tight heat.
Wendy (Hanover Lady) gets a chance to land a decent D1 on Saturday’s card at 7.46pm. Berthed in the red box, and it being all about the ‘ping,’ Wendy’s form of late suggests she can go close.
