Rockmount Robben – A 3rd Hove win for ‘Rocky’
ROCKMOUNT ROBBEN opened his Hove account when winning in A5 grade on the 15th November showing good pace when beating Pollards Billy just over a length! He made it two wins from four runs when beating kennel mate Ballymac Chindit in A5 grade last Wednesday. Escaping a penalty for the A5 at 6-11 the September 2013 son of Westmead Hawk owned by Jim Whiteman was sent off the 5/2 favourite and leading at the third bend he stayed on well to beat the Ken Tester trained Ballymac Cai by two and a half lengths! Clocking 30.76 (-30) 30.46 calculated ‘Rocky’ was winning his 3rd race at Hove from only five outings! Kennel mate DROOPYS RELAX was a late addition to this race. She was beaten by her sister Droopys Heat on her Hove debut but the February 14 daughter of Mall Brandy beat Senor Eddie by 3/4 of a length in D2 grade on the 30th October! She made a slow start when beaten four lengths by Slaheny Valley in A5 grade last Sunday and it was a repeat today! Slow away she clocked 31.15 (-30) 30.85 calculated when finishing in 6th place beaten five lengths by the winner.

How Our Other Runners Fared
LEATHEMS BRIGHT clocked 30.49 calculated when beating Swift Andorra in a three-dog Trial on the 14th November but the February 14 son of Shaneboy Lee was well beaten by Pollards Billy when finishing 4th in A5 grade on the 22nd November! ‘Wellington’ was quick away in the A5 at 2-27 and he led to 1/2 way. He lost his action at the third bend and dropped away to finish in 6th place clocking 31.45 (-20) 31.25 calculated when beaten eleven lengths by the Ken Tester trained winner Ballyregan Cain. Assistant trainer Gemma Byford reported from the track that Leathems Bright had his heels clipped at the third bend and was also bumped but he appears to be fine.
WINDY WARRIOR led all the way when beating his kennel mate Mist Of Time in A8 grade on the 19th November but the March 13 son of Windy Millar was well beaten by Maireads Mist up in A7 grade last Friday! Windy Warrior held every chance when finishing 2nd to the Claude Gardiner trained Woodmancote Buddy in the A7 at 2-47. A 4/1 chance he clocked 31.00 (-20) 30.80 calculated when beaten just under two lengths by the winner.
ABBEYS ZENYATTA was beaten just over nine lengths by Dunham Prince in A8 grade on the 21st November and the April 13 daughter of Droopys Kewell was given a drop in grade but suffered ‘trouble’ in running when beaten five lengths by Swift Holly last Wednesday. She was in trouble again in the A7 at 3-07 and Norah would like to see her drawn nearer the rails in future. Crowded at the second and third bends Abbeys Zenyatta clocked 31.59 (-30) 31.29 calculated when beaten just over nine lengths by the race winner Historic Rogue who is trained by Wayne Wrighting.
GRANSON LUCA is in good form and the February 2012 son of Blackstone Gene made it two wins from his last four races when getting a ‘head’ verdict over Leamaneigh Cash in A9 grade last Friday. He escaped a penalty for the A9 at 3-28 and ran on well when runner-up to the Tony Taylor trained winner Leamaneigh Cash. AVIT ON BERYL has found ‘trouble’ in running on her last two outings when finishing well behind Lets Go Droopy and Hitachi Tara in A9 grade! The May 12 daughter of Farley Turbo held every chance today clocking 31.43 (-30) 31.13 calculated when finishing in 4th place beaten just over four lengths by the winner.
TIMBERLEE LAD opened his Hove account when beating Complicated Toni by almost two lengths in A11 grade on the 30th October! The April 14 son of Blackstone Gene was a beaten favourite in A10 grade on his latest outing finishing 4th to Gambles Winner and ‘Woody’ was made a 4/1 chance for the A10 at 3-48. Despite making a slow start and being baulked at the first bend he clocked 31.52 (-30) 31.22 calculated when finishing 2nd beaten just over three lengths by Elusive Kate who is trained by Claude Gardiner.
INTAYACYNTHIA has held every chance on her last three runs finishing close up behind Gambles Winner, Tour De France and Leahs Power all in A11 grade! The October 10 daughter of Kryptonite suffered crowding in the A11 at 4-08 but still managed to finish 2nd to the Doreen Walsh trained winner Sing Song Lady. Intayacynthia clocked 31.82 (-30) 31.52 calculated when beaten two and a half lengths by the winner.
DROOPYS RIVES produced good runs against Dimyourlights, Sizzlers Apollo and Champagne Mel recently but the July 13 son of Westmead Hawk finally got back to winning ways in D1 grade when beating kennel mate Dragon Overlord by a length and a half last Wednesday! ‘River’ produced another good run in the D1 Sprint at 4-27 today running on well after being crowded at the first bend to finish 2nd to the Seamus Cahill trained winner Guinness Solo. Droopys Rives clocked 16.77 (-15) 16.62 calculated when beaten just over one length!
DATA OLLY has been running well lately and the June 13 son of Head Bound was a good winner when beating Bellinter Bear by a head in A5 grade on the 21st November! Up in A4 grade last Saturday he ran on late to finish 4th beaten less than two lengths by Westmead Julie. He was slow away again today in the A4 at 4-47 and after suffering crowding at the third bend he was unable to produce his normal strong finish! Clocking 31.15 (-30) 30.85 calculated he finished in 5th place beaten just over three lengths by the Doreen Walsh trained winner Cabela Holly.
LISTRY ACE clocked a very decent 30.45 calculated when beating Nods Mary Sharp to win her first race for the Norah Mac Racing Club. The October 12 daughter of Kinloch Brae was beaten five lengths by Next Customer last Friday and she was soon in trouble in the A6 at 5-07 today. Badly baulked at the first bend she was always trailing and clocked 31.88 (-30) 31.58 calculated when beaten sixteen lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Priceless Sand.
CELLINI was the 14/1 outsider for her comeback run where she finished 4th behind kennel mate All About Eile in a D2 Sprint on the 14th November. The January 11 daughter of Head Bound also finished 4th to Get On Laura last Friday! Cellini wasn’t beaten far in both those runs and she had a ding-dong battle with the Jason Heath trained Nods Round in the D2 Sprint at 5-38 today. The ‘two’ 9/4 joint-favourites disputed the lead throughout but Cellini, clocking 16.91 (-15) 16.76 calculated in 2nd place, lost out by a ‘neck’ at the line!
