LENSON WALCOTT finished an excellent 2nd in a 480 metre WIMBLEDON STANDARD Open race at Plough Lane on the 27th August! Despite some bumping and barging at the start involving four of the runners he clocked an impressive 28.69 (Normal) when beaten a length and a half by the Elizabeth & Rab McNair trained winner Queen Asia. Owned by Tony Mann the August 13 son of Vans Escalade was back at Hove on the 3rd September for an A1 where he was made a 3/1 chance! After suffering crowding ‘Theo’ clocked 30.30 calculated when finishing in 3rd place beaten just under three lengths by Slaheny King. He clocked 29.19 calculated when beaten 3/4 of a length by Oo Wants It in a 3-dog Trial over 480 metres at Central Park on the 13th September and lined up an 8/1 chance for Heat 3 of the Kent Derby where a first three finish would have qualified him for the Semi-Finals! Despite taking a bump at the second bend ‘Theo’ led from the first to the fourth bend! Sadly he was caught close home and clocked 29.34 (Normal) when finishing in 4th place beaten two lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Kranky Damo.
