Wednesday 28th September 2016 – HOVE Runners
FANORE BREEZE broke well and led all the way when beating Perro Par by 1/2 a length in A6 grade on the 17th September! The December 12 daughter of Crash clocked 30.49 (Normal) when winning her 12th race at Hove and was put up in grade for an A5 last Friday. Quick away she led from the fourth bend to the run-in when finishing 2nd to Clairkeith Rico. Clocking 30.54 (Normal) she was only beaten a length and now lines up for the A5 at 2-47.
GELERT THE GREAT was slow away and baulked at the first bend in A7 grade on the 31st August but he ran on well and got up late to beat Wonkers Lad by a short-head! The May 14 son of Westmead Hawk clocked 30.77 calculated when winning his 3rd race at Hove and was put up in grade for an A6 on the 4th September. Slow away and crowded on the run-up he clocked 30.78 calculated when finishing 5th beaten three lengths by Starch Hill Sid and he was given a drop in grade for an A7 on the 9th September! A slow break didn’t help his chance and he clocked 31.07 calculated when finishing in 4th place beaten two lengths by Kimiko. Gelert The Great is back in action for the A7 at 3-28.
EL LATINO
MARYS BOY was a 6/1 chance for a D2 Sprint on the 17th September and despite being baulked at the first bend he managed to finish in 2nd place clocking 16.81 (Normal) when beaten two lengths by Droopys Cairo. The June 14 son of Razldazl Jayfkay was sent off a 4/1 chance for D2 Sprint last Wednesday. Racing wide at half way he clocked 17.07 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten just under four lengths by Ohmakneeliz. He now lines up for the D2 Sprint at 5-38 along with kennel mate EL LATINO who clocked 16.98 (Normal) when beating Britania Legend four lengths in a 2-dog Sprint Trial on the 12th September on her return from seasonal rest. The May 14 daughter of Droopys Scolari was a 12/1 shot for a D2 Sprint on the 18th September where she was very slow away and left with no chance when baulked at the second bend! Clocking 17.46 (Normal) she finished in 5th place beaten almost seven lengths by Brunswick Lucy.
FRONT STEP was an 8/1 chance on her Hove debut but she was slow away and baulked at the first bend! Clocking 30.91 (Normal) she finished in 5th place beaten just over five lengths by her kennel mate Fanore Breeze. The January 15 daughter of Ballymac Eske was a 6/1 chance for an A6 last Friday but was again slow away. Crowded at the 3/4 mark she clocked 30.98 (Normal) when finishing in 6th place beaten three and a half lengths by Snowy Drifter and is given a drop in grade for the A7 at 5-56.
KILCOMMON was a 4/1 chance for an A9 on the 18th September but he was unable to dominate from the front and suffered crowding from the third to the fourth bend! Clocking 31.64 (Normal) he finished in 6th place beaten seven lengths by Warnham Star. The August 13 son of Vans Escalade was a 5/1 shot for an A9 last Thursday where he suffered crowding at the first bend and again on the run-in! Clocking 31.21 (Normal) he finished in 5th place beaten just under four lengths by Risky Roisin. Kilcommon lines up for the A9 at 6-11.

SIZZLERS DIAMOND made a slow start and suffered crowding at the third bend but still clocked a very decent 30.28 calculated in A2 grade on the 10th September where he finished 2nd beaten just a length by Cork Falcon. The March 14 son of Head Bound owned by Dave Cook & Dave Staddon was back in Open company for Heat 2 of the HOVE THURSDAY NIGHT 500 – MAIDEN 475 competition last Thursday! A 3/1 chance he found ‘trouble’ in running after making a slow start and missed out on a place in the Final when finishing in 4th spot! Clocking 28.15 (Normal) he was beaten just under six lengths by the Wayne Wrighting trained winner Woodmancote Lass. Sizzlers Diamond lines up for the CORAL HOVE MAIDEN at 7-48.

OBEY THE RULES was a 5/1 shot for a HOVE MAIDEN SPRINT Open race on the 8th September where the November 13 son of Westmead Hawk owned by Dr H. Ngan held on well to beat Swift Banzai by a neck! Clocking 16.53 (Normal) Obey The Rules was winning for the 3rd time at Hove and was a 3/1 chance for a D1 Sprint on the 16th September. He broke well but was baulked at the first bend and clocked 16.98 (Normal) when finishing in 5th place beaten just over four lengths by Sizzlerscheyenne. He was a 5/2 chance for a D1 Sprint last Thursday but he suffered crowding at the first bend and clocked 16.70 (Normal) when finishing in 4th place beaten three lengths by his kennel mate Tip Top Tara. A winner over 480 metres at Tralee Obey The Rules steps up to 475 metres at Hove for the first time now back in Open company for the HOVE 475 Open race at 8-04.

SIZZLERSCHEYENNE was slow away and found ‘trouble’ in running clocking 28.22 (Normal) when finishing 5th beaten just over eight lengths by Glencroft Rumble in the Final of the HOVE DUAL DISTANCE Competition on the 8th September. He was sent off 6/4 favourite back in graded action for a D1 Sprint on the 16th September where he returned to winning ways when making all to beat Guinness Sun by almost three lengths! The August 12 son of Hondo Black owned by Dave Cook & Joy Cook clocked 16.64 (Normal) when winning his 16th race at Hove and was made 6/4 favourite for a D1 Sprint last Saturday. Crowded at the first bend after making a slow start he ran on well to finish 3rd clocking 16.68 calculated when beaten three lengths by Lemon Arthur. Sizzlerscheyenne lines up for the HOVE SPRINT Open race at 8-36.

DROOPYS TEQUILA was a 4/1 chance for an A6 on the 16th September where she held every chance clocking 30.96 (Normal) when finishing 5th beaten just under five lengths by Free Passage. Given a drop in grade for Heat 2 of the Owners Bonus Series competition (A7) last Sunday she needed a first ‘three’ finish to see her qualify for the Final! Sent off the 6/4 favourite the September 13 daughter of Droopys Scolari owned by Trevor Cooper, Dave Staddon and Ray Wheeler totally missed her break and did well to finish in 3rd place! Clocking 30.91 calculated she was beaten just under three lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Clairekeith Sky. Droopys Tequila should have every chance in a wide open OWNERS BONUS SERIES – FINAL at 8-52.

LISTRY ACE – drop in grade!
LISTRY ACE was a 4/1 chance for an A8 on the 21st September but she found trouble in running! Baulked and forced to check at the 3/4 mark she finished in 5th place clocking 31.25 calculated when beaten just under five lengths by Maireads Rest. A 7/2 chance for an A8 last Sunday the October 12 daughter of Kinloch Brae owned by the Norah Mac Racing Club suffered crowding at the first and third bends but she ran on well to grab 2nd place clocking 30.85 calculated when beaten just over four lengths by Tyrur Celena. ‘Grace’ is given a drop in grade for the A9 at 9-07.
