Wendy Trophy Treat and thru to 21/4
Review
A superlative Saturday night at Nevill Road stadium as our canine club queen Wendy (Hanover Lady) treated her legion of fans to a scintillating success, spreadeagling her rivals in the opening Trophy race on the all-sponsored card.
It’s hard to overstate the level of pleasure our blue girl provides as it’s so rare these days that she disappoints.
The evening provided further success for Norah, and plenty more to smile about over the weekend with further winners firing in on Sunday. It’s fair to say that the kennel is very much back to it’s usual winning ways – ‘always a winner.’

Norah’s pitch as we sponsor the betting ring results board
Norah, on hand on Saturday, was in high spirits after Wendy’s win and was happy to pose for our new advert, sponsoring the results board in the betting ring. It’s very much Norah’s aim to encourage into the sport new owners so they can experience the thrill of racing and the pleasure of developing bonds with their very own greyhound.
Back to the racing and honourable mentions too for Molly (Classy Molly), running well enough as she learns her trade and Lenny (Droopys Leonard), a winner waiting to happen as soon as the currently terribly sticky wicket out wide on the back straight dries up.
Preview
Little time for Lenny (Droopys Leonard) to get a rest before he’s called up for duty again on Wednesday. Our busy boy has been running well of late. The track has shown clear signs of bias with the outside back straight apparently appearing quite holding and Lenny has had quite a few runs since returning to the fray a couple of weeks ago.
So his chance of claiming the A4 at 2.47pm on Wednesday will depend somewhat on both his maintaining recent enthusiasm and the state of the surface come the day. On the plus side he is sole wide seed and has a couple of less pacey sorts on his immediate inside. Tough to call either way- fingers crossed.
Friday’s matinee card features Molly (Classy Molly) lining up in the A8 at 1.27pm. A little clemency from the grader provides Molly a more achievable bite of the Hove prize fund cherry.
This heat perhaps provides Molly’s first realistic chance of grabbing a gold medal. There’s not too much pace either side and some kind of clear passage in the early stages should see our September ’11 go close.
On a technical note Molly currently runs under Norah’s name. This is an admin error and ownership is in the process of being changed into the club brand.
