Norah’s now a Twit and thru to 12/5
News
A technological breakthrough this week as Norah is giving twitter a go. The team, Gemma, Tim and Phillip, at Burhill, are somewhat more tech savvy than Norah, and will be forwarding news on her behalf.
The idea is to provide faster info on trials, trial results, away runners, late entries and scratchings. All news that can’t necessarily wait for a website update.
Hopefully, once we get into a rhythm, owners and kennel supporters will have access to latest news via twitter, especially on trials, which can be changed at the last minute, and trial times, which aren’t updated very quickly by the track.
To become a follower simply click the link at the top right of the home page. Setting up your own account takes about a minute or two. Following is very simple and can be done by mobile phone too. If you’re an owner with the kennel or support the dogs then you can stay right up to date with news on their progress, especially with trials and running plans. This will also save the soles on the kennel staff’s shoes with, in time – as we all get used to the new technology, fewer trips to the land line in the office.
Norah’s flying the flag at Coventry of late and has two (though not the fancied one!) through to the £1,000 hurdle final next Sunday – Barnish Myway and Druids Gaffney having a tilt at grabbing the grand.
The regular Sunday card at the Brandon circuit, featured on RPGTV, is providing varied top class action and is well worth a visit for a taste of proper ‘old school’ greyhound atmosphere.
The restaurant is modern, clean and offers decent food and great service with a fine view of the race action – get there or be square!

On Wednesday, in the 4.08pm, an A5, Lenny (Droopys Leonard) is enetered and has trap six on his quick return. Lenny is not running too well of late and he cannot be given any particular vote of confidence. (Update: Lenny scratched from race)
Later on the card Molly (Classy Molly) gets another outing in an A8, at 4.27pm. She runs from trap three and, with her running style to date, it will be a flip of the coin as to whether she will have her head in front on the line if getting into the mix. That said, at a working man’s price, she could be worth a nibble.
Horse Outside is in with a shout in the 12.42pm, an A5, on Friday’s matinee card. Boxed in two, he’ll need to avoid the sharpish Linwoodmegabound, on his inside. Our lad could be in the mix if marginally improving on last week’s return to action outing.
We’ve three entered for Sunday morning’s matinee card. Molly (Classy Molly) gets proceedings under way with another cut at an A8, at 11.57am. A ridiculously short priced favourite midweek, she duly disappointed – but not at a working man’s price so unlikely to have interested any value hunters from this direction.
Boxed in four, in what is a typically tightly graded affair, Molly would need to avoid trouble and put in a career best to land the spoils. Our September ’11 girl has plenty of improvement to come so again -should she be a working man’s price (3’s or better?) – would be worth a nibble.
Next up is Oscar (Lima Oscar) who is invited to take a crack at an Owners Bonus heat – an A9 grade at 1.28pm. As a matter of opinion Oscar seems to be in with a rather rum bunch (no offence to fellow owners!) and looks a very short price indeed to progress to the final. Boxed in six with a particularly slow starter on his inside, this looks like Oscar’s race to lose – the main doubts being Oscar knowing the game rather well these days and potential negative track bias to the outside (which can be checked from earlier results).
And finally, and hopefully the third of a triumphant trio of aspirants, Lenny (Droopys Leonard) lines up in the A5 at 1.58pm. Our hardworking lad has had a short break, missing his entry midweek, and there’s some hope that he may be a little more buoyant having been freshened up a little with a slight change of routine. Fingers crossed.
How about an equally divided each way treble the three – proper old school bet!
