Wendy Trophy Triumph and thru to 9/6…
Review
Wendy (Hanover Lady) produced a wonderful Wednesday landing the coveted midweek trophy in her D1 last week. She showed her usual pace up to the bend and held off all rivals much to the excitement of those of us attending. That’s Wendy’s twentieth win now.
Molly (Classy Molly) almost had her head in front at the line on Friday but nevertheless gained a dead-heat win to break her duck for the club. She’s a bit of a tricky customer so fingers crossed that she concentrates on the job well enough to land plenty more for us.
The last four club wins will be updated on the video gallery in the next ten days (when our technician returns from holiday).
Norah reports Oscar (Lima Oscar) is a little sore and will be resting for a few weeks.
A good week for the kennel last week with a TV Open double – well done Princess Patti and Kizi, and cheers to Cloheena Mickey who is in Round Two of the Derby.

Norah reports that Leah (Memories Leah) is all ready to have a trial asap now. Hopefully Monday.
Gilbert (Ferdia Oscar) has, after all, become a part of the club portfolio. His overall form in Ireland, a decent sprint trial on Monday and a fair arrangement with the seller has persuaded Norah to retain the white and black lad. The August ’10 son of Head Bound has plenty of speed and will compete, for the most part, in Opens.
For the time being we have seven runners representing the club. Unprecedented value for money!
Preview
Stay at home members and supporters have an opportunity to catch some action via Racing Post Greyhound TV on Thursday night. There’s a chance of some success with both club representatives (amongst a bevvy of kennel runners).
Lenny (Droopys Leonard) benefits from a relax in grade, contesting the A5 at 7.46pm from the six box. The ease in grade should encourage a more prominent show from Lenny in what is, nonetheless, a competitive heat.
On the back of her trophy triumph last week, Wendy (Hanover Lady) is given a chance to further add to our ‘silverware’ with an entry in the Maiden Open Sprint at 8.50pm.
It would be the icing on the cake in our grand blue’s portfolio of wins, having yet to score at Open level.
The four dog (Porto Girl) is predisposed to head for the rails which could be a major obstacle though the overall level of form on show gives Wendy a respectable shout if navigating a clear passage. Fingers crossed.
A cheeky each-way double the pair would be a reasonable option for those looking for an added interest.
