Norah’s Sooo Hot … & thru to 11/8!
Review
The scorching pace of winners continues as Norah and her team have the hounds running in tremendous style. Last week’s Racing Post showed Norahmac top of the ‘hot table’ at Hove with 26% (Friday’s Post), and joint leader, at 23%, for the year. Top bombing and a big well done to all.
On the cannine front for the club; hats off to Oscar (Lima Oscar), the inimitable Wendy (Hanover Lady) and a big welcome to the Open race scene to Leah (Memories Leah). A trio of great wins last week.
Perhaps a special mention to Leah who finally put to bed her series of setbacks, going back to December and continuing through to last Wednesday, with an emphatic win on her first look at Central Park on Sunday.
Our diminutive blue girl took a while to get going but made the opposition look one-paced to win going away by over three lengths. She goes to next week’s final with a realistic chance of grabbing gold.
On the ‘other news’ front Norah confirms that the Summer Soiree is now fixed and confirmed for Saturday September 14th. Norah would like to thank David Macdonald, General manager of Coral Stadia, for his willingness to help put on this event. A thank you to owners, and a celebration of the Norahmac year to date. All owners and their connections are welcome to attend in the Sprinters Function Room, throughout the evening. We’re likely to sponsor at least one contest, probably to honour Hanover Lady and Lima Oscar (should be centurions by then). Any other owners who fancy sponsoring could do worse than plumping for this evening with many co-owners at Nevill Road to enjoy the festivities.

Club members Lisa and Lee, presenting Lima Oscar their sponsored trophy July 20th
There will be no official ticket price but a £5 (minimum contribution) to the raffle on the night would be most welcome towards the cost of the event. We’ll be having a buffet style meal similar to last year, the bar will be open and there will be Tote facilities in the room.
Our recent bout of club runner wins, including Lima Oscar winning our member-sponsored race on July 20th, will be uploaded to the site this week (probably Tuesday). Leah’s win at Sittingbourne will be added in due course.
Preview
No BAGS meeting on Wednesday though the kennel has a troupe of runners on the Sky TV all-sponsored card on Wednesday evening, Many of which are owned in club-member syndicates; good luck to Cellini, Zara Two, Kizi and Druids Abouttime.
So it’s Thursday’s card on RPGTV which holds the midweek graded heats and Wendy (Hanover Lady) lines up with the rails draw for the D1 at 8.34pm. Our blue has every chance but needs to put her best paw forward to confirm her short-head victory, over kennel mate Glenvale Stevie, boxed next door in trap two.
Plenty of representatives from the kennel on Friday’s matinee BAGS card. The club has Oscar (Lima Oscar) now tackling A6 company and having a poke at the 11.57pm. It’s high up the Hove ladder for Oscar, who has a sole wide seed, but he’s in the form of his life at present so a decent run can be expected.
Later on the card Horse Outside has his sights set on the A4 at 12.58pm. Another aspirant in fine fettle but Horse always has to battle to land the spoils and this tightly graded affair looks no exception.
On to Sittingbourne, Sunday, with Leah (Memories Leah) seeking to land her first competition on the back of last week’s tremendous heat win. Again boxed in three in the 7.54pm, the £500 Maiden Stayers Final, our March ’11 whelp can be expected to improve significantly from last week’s first look around the Central Park circuit. Furthermore she’s still gaining fitness following her very long lay-off through to last month.
Hopes are very high for a very big run. She’ll not be far away!
