Upcoming dates for the social diary: Hall Green Greyhound Sales, Sunday September 1st.
See Previous Post http://norahmacracingclub.co.uk/greyhound-sales-hall-green-sept-1st/ for full details.
The Summer Social is just around the corner now so keep Saturday, September 7th, free to enjoy a social night mixed with racing at Hove stadium when, all being well, the kennel and club will be well represented.
Well done to Lenny (Droopys Leonard) who slooshed home on Saturday night in a trophy race. Pics and race video to follow.
Leah (Memories Leah) is on the easy list for a month or two following a relatively minor wrist injury in her run last week. Most unfortunate but these ups and downs are all part of the game.
Update 21/8: Plans are developing to give a sensational twist to the raffle and auction on Summer Social Saturday Sept 7th. Proceeds from which will go solely towards the cost of running the event and the race sponsorship with any surplus (or minimum £100) being split between the Brighton Retired Greyhound Trust and Wimbledon Greyhound Welfare, so please give generously.
Norah sends a quintet of runners to Sittingbourne, Sunday in search of Open race booty. Good luck to; Cellini (450m 6.28pm), Barnish Myway (£500 Hurdle Final 7.37pm), Kizi (£1000 Sprint Final 8.11pm), Athlacca Olympic (500m £1,000 Final 8.45pm) and Droopys Darwin (500m 9.19pm).
Preview
Track-wise club action is held over until Friday’s card where Lenny (Droopys Leonard) avoids a penalty for Sunday’s success, contesting the A5 at 1.44pm. That said it’s a warm heat for the grade and Lenny, in trap six, will need to be pretty much on top form to land a quickfire double.
Addition (23/08) Ferdia Oscar is a late put-in for the sprint D1 at 8.51pm on Saturday evening. Our Open-racer, berthed in four, takes this in to keep him fit, needing to improve on his first course and distance effort to trouble the judge. That said our white and black has plenty of ability and a clear sight of the bunny could bring a decent showing at likely big odds.
Horse Outside looks to have a favourite’s chance to bring home the bacon that is the winner’s purse in the A5 at 12.12pm on Sunday’s card.
A rails berth, with a novice and some middle running types further out, suggests Horse will take all the beating. And it’s not just bacon at stake but the gammon with a pineapple on top that is the £500 Owners Bonus prize the following Saturday should our white and black finish in the first three.
