Friday 2nd June 2017  –  HOVE Report

FRONT STEP was a 5/1 chance for the A9 at 3-07 on her return from injury. Out for almost four months the January 15 daughter of Ballymac Eske made a pleasing comeback when running on strongly to finish 2nd to the Claude Gardiner trained Tyrur Celina. Clocking 30.94 (Normal) she was beaten just a ‘short-head’ by the winner! DROOPYS LUNAR  was a 4/1 chance and the November 13 daughter of Droopys Cain made a good start only to suffer crowding at the 3rd bend. Clocking 31.08 (Normal) she finished in 3rd place beaten just under two lengths by the winner.

INDEPENDENT JACK was a 5/1 shot for the D1 Sprint at 4-08 where the August 13 son of Kinloch Brae owned by the Norah Mac Racing Club held every chance! Finishing in 3rd place ‘Jack’ clocked 16.63 (Normal) when beaten five lengths by Dafaoite Junior who is trained by Derek Knight. CASHONTHERUN beat Independent Jack a ‘short-head’ when the pair met just over a week ago and the August 14 son of Colorful Champ was a 9/2 chance today. Clocking 16.74 (Normal) after suffering crowding at the 1st bend he finished in 4th place just over six lengths behind the winner.

‘Sizzlers Ivory’ Fine After Fall!

CABRIOL ARAMIS was a 3/1 chance for the D2 Sprint at 5-38 where despite running into ‘trouble’ at the 1st bend the May 14 daughter of Blonde Snapper finished in 3rd place clocking 16.90 (Normal) when beaten just 3/4 of a length by Drive The Bend who is trained by Jason Heath. Kennel mate SIZZLERS IVORY was quick away but the January 15 daughter of Farloe Barracuda was badly baulked and fell at the 1st bend! Norah reported that ‘Simba’ has been checked over by the Hove vets and she appears to be fine!

TIMBERLEE LASS had been off the track for three months but the April 14 daughter of Blackstone Gene was sent off the 9/4 favourite for the A11 at 6-11 on her return after injury! Although baulked on the run-up and at the 1st bend she finished in 2nd place clocking 31.52 (Normal) when beaten a length and a half by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Sky Dive.
