SISTERS SECRET won an A5 on his Hove debut and then defied a ‘two’ grade rise to win an A3 on his next appearance! After winning both Heat and Final of a Maiden Open race competition at Romford in April he completed a ‘hat-trick’ by beating Maireads Jett two lengths in A2 grade at Hove on the 6th May! Norah was impressed by his progress and decided to let him have a crack at the Derby! The April 15 son of Kinloch Brae owned by Karen Browne & Mick Browne was sent off the 25/1 outsider for his 1st Round Heat but ‘Malcolm’ ran a superb race to finish in 2nd place clocking 29.56 calculated when beaten just under three lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Forest Con. He was the 50/1 outsider for last nights 2nd Round Heat but he was by no means disgraced when finishing in 4th place. Clocking 29.57 calculated he was beaten six lengths by the Pat Rosney trained winner The Other Reg but the experience gained will prove valuable to our youngster!

Mick Browne, who owns the brindle with his sister Karen, said last night “I’m gutted for Norah as we really wanted to give her a few more rounds of us nicking 3rd places….but we had a go and we are very proud of our boy!”
