‘Sizzlers Gunboat’ Fired-Up For Hove Win!

SIZZLERS GUNBOAT was slow away when 5th beaten three lengths by Roundhill Boy on Thursday but making a quick reappearance the September 15 son of Mall Brandy was all fired up for success in the A6 at 8-18. Sent off a 5/2 chance he ran on well after suffering early crowding and beat the Wayne Wrighting trained Champagne Mel by a length! Owned by Dave Cook & Joy Cook Sizzlers Gunboat clocked 30.61 (Normal) when winning for the 1st time at Hove! Kennel mate AVIT ON DORIS was making a return after seasonal rest and the March 14 daughter of Shaneboy Spencer was a 7/1 chance. ‘Doris’ held every chance until tiring late on and clocking 31.18 (Normal) she finished in 6th place beaten just over seven lengths by the winner.

How Our Other Runners Fared
DROOPYS ELMA clocked 30.53 (Normal) when 5th beaten four and a half lengths by the Carol Weatherall trained winner Greenhill Gem in Heat 1 of the CORAL LADIES TROPHY Open Competition on Thursday night and was sent off the 9/4 second-favourite for the A3 at 7-46. Baulked at the 1st bend the February 15 daughter of Mall Brandy ran on well to finish in 3rd place clocking 30.43 (Normal) when beaten two and a half lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Burnpark Vic.
SIZZLERSCHEYENNE beat Imaginary Impact by 3/4 of a length on his latest outing and the August 12 son of Hondo Black was looking to complete a ‘double’ in the D1 Sprint at 8-02. A 9/2 shot he held every chance and finishing in 2nd place he clocked 16.56 (Normal) when beaten two lengths by Jackals Pavlova who is trained by Derek Knight.
FOREVER MICK led all the way to beat Castlemary Rebel by just over a length last time out and the June 15 son of Tullymurry Act was up in grade for the A5 at 8-51. Sent off the 8/1 outsider ‘Micky’ raced prominent early but was badly baulked at the 1/4 mark! Clocking 31.26 (Normal) he finished in 6th place beaten nine and a half lengths by the Jason Heath trained winner Perro Par.
A 5/1 chance FLACKWELL SPIRIT was down in grade for the D2 Sprint at 9-24 where the June 14 son of Taylors Sky ran well to finish in 2nd place despite suffering crowding on the run-in! Clocking 16.66 (Normal) he was beaten two lengths by Punkrock Rambo who is trained by Ken Tester. Kennel mate HYNESS MILL has been placed in all four runs since returning from injury and although finishing in 4th place last night he was always in with a chance! A 4/1 shot the September 14 son of Droopys Jet clocked 16.68 (Normal) when beaten just over two lengths by winner.
SUMMERVILLE KATE was added to the Norah Mac Racing Club strength this week and the July 15 daughter of Forest Master made her ‘Club’ debut in the D3 Sprint at 10-13. A 7/1 chance ‘Katie’ suffered crowding at the 1st bend but keeping on well she clocked 16.96 (Normal) when finishing in 3rd place beaten two lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Sister Tootsie.
