Two purchases from the Hall Green sales!
A hardy bunch of members travelled up the m40 to join Norah, and sales guru Brian Harrison, for the Hall Green greyhound auctions.
Brian and Norah made a thorough inspection of the sales lots before the trials and then we all looked on eagle-eyed at the morning action. This, adding to Brian’s prelimanary work; analysing the value of previous Irish form, and researching which were most likely to train on over the coming months.
Brian and Norah had already ear-marked three or four possible purchases before the trials and it was simply a matter of obtaining value for money for the club in the auction subject to them showing up well enough in their events.
Happily Norah was able to bring back two of the initially selected pups at very acceptable prices. So the norahmacracing club is the proud owner of two youngsters: a May 09, , black bitch and a September 09, black and white dog. Full details of both dogs including a video clip of them in action in Ireland will be posted in the next week or so in the ‘stars of our show’, images and video pages of the website. Both, thoughvery lightly campaigned, are already winners in Ireland.
They arrived safely at the kennels and are settling in comfortably. Members are encouraged to come along on Sunday and meet their new charges. Whilst potential members are welcome to take a look too on Sunday, March 20th at the launch celebration, and get involved by joining the club at this particularly exciting time.
These two new recruits are only the beginning and Norah is keeping her eye open for an additional recruit, possibly a hurdler, to complement this years’ club kennel strength.
It’s been decided to focus very much on the future and on Open class campaigns for club hounds. With this in mind, the club will not take on Queenie who, whilst having performed to a high standard as a grader, is unlikely, given her age, to develop further. It is felt club funds will be better invested in these new recruits. Norah will continue to train Queenie for graded racing at Wimbledon but the norahmacracingclub will not take ownership.
