SWIFT DEBBIE COMPLETE’S A BRILLIANT THREE-TIMER!

CLASSY MOLLY BRINGS UP THE 90th NORAH MAC RACING CLUB WIN!

LOBELIA RETURNS TO HER BEST AND COMPLETE’S THE KENNEL TREBLE!

Friday 2nd May HOVE Report

Winners

SWIFT DEBBIE completed the three-timer, with wins in A6 and A5 grade and now the A4 at 12-27 today, as she climbs up the grades at Hove. The August 2010 daughter of Hometown Boy was quick away with a 4.15 sec split and led from traps to line clocking 30.56 0n the normal going. Owned by Miss J. A. Maslin she beat the runner-up Newtown Skipdots trained by Paul Garland by over three lengths and was winning for the 13th time at Hove.

The win of CLASSY MOLLY in the A8 at 1-12 brought up the 90th winner for her owners the Norah Mac Racing Club. The September 2011 daughter of Duke Special was sent off the 2/1 favourite and was always front rank leading to the second and from the third bend. ‘Molly’ clocked 30.74 (normal) when beating the Jason Heath trained Ballytag Ella by just over a length. This was her sixth win this year and her 9th career win in total.

LOBELIA is happy when she’s on the bunny and things went her way in the A5 at 1-27. The July 2011 daughter of Van’s Escalade showed early pace and soon led clocking 30.63 (normal) when holding off the running on Lawseys Cracker, trained by Jason Heath, by 3/4 of a length. Lobelia is owned by Ross Banner, Ted Lloyd, Jim Reid and Dave Staddon and she was winning for the 5th time at Hove. Kennel mate Graiguenoe Royal was never able to challenge and was crowded at the fourth bend and finished in 5th place clocking 31.10 (normal) beaten around five lengths.

How Our Other Runners Fared

Owners Dave and Joy Cook had two of their “Sizzler” dogs on the card and they both went off favourite for their races but neither was able to get their head in front! Sizzlers Big Boy (3/1 joint favourite) was bumped at the first bend in the A7 at 11-57 and shuffled back to finish in 5th place clocking 31.12 (normal) five lengths behind the Seamus Cahill trained winner Swift Porche. Sizzlers Beauty had an even rougher race in the A5 at 12-12 when she was baulked and checked at the 1/4 mark before being baulked again at the third bend. The 2/1 favourite clocked 30.69 (normal) when beaten five lengths into 5th place by the Wayne Wrighting trained winner Numero Oonah.

We had two runners in the last race and they were both unable to trouble the judge. Droopys Bertha was the 9/4 favourite for the A6 at 1-58 but she was baulked at the first bend when leading and finished 5th, clocking 31.16 (normal), beaten just under five lengths by the Jason Heath trained Dacent Louise. Kennel mate Intayacynthia finished a further neck behind after being crowded at the first and second bends. She clocked 31.19 (normal) in 6th place.
