Glenvale Stevie ‘Crashes’ Out Of Derby!
‘STEVIE’ COLLIDES WITH FALLER AFTER FIRST BEND CROWDING!
William Hill Greyhound Derby 2nd Round Heat 4 (Friday)
Friday 9th May WIMBLEDON Report
It was a case of we will never know after Glenvale Stevie survived carnage at the first bend in last nights William Hill Greyhound Derby 2nd Round Heat 4 race at Wimbledon. Glenvale Stevie needed to trap and lead to have any hope of qualification! Any hold ups behind would have helped his chance but ‘Stevie’ was one of the four runners involved in the first bend crowding but somehow managed to scramble over the fallen Tiger Trooper and stay on his feet! Stevie was turned side ways but continued well behind the other runners. After the race the kennel team reported that he seemed to be fine which is a blessing after such a nasty incident. We are also pleased to report that Tiger Trooper got to his feet and completed beaten a distance.

Racing Post Report
Heat 4 First bend trouble left Tiger Trooper on the deck, with Glenvale Stevie in a hopeless position, as seemed Jaytee Barzelona. Ballygibbon King, continuing the great run of Seamus Cahill, led (4.79) and made all in 28.20sec +20, winning by nine lengths. Pursued by Leamaneigh Turbo (4.87). Bubbly Gold (4.95) lay third but Leamaneigh Turbo fell down the proverbial hole on the run in, going from second to out of the Derby as Bubbly Gold came second and Jaytee Barzelona (4.93) somehow squeezed through by half a length. Ballygibbon King initially 33-1 with Hills after the race, was later cut into 20s Result 5-4-3
