KENNEL HAS THREE 2nd PLACES BUT WINNERS ELUDE US!

Wednesday 14th May HOVE Report

We could not find a winner today but three of our runners finished in the second place spot. Glenvale Rosie was 2nd in the A10 at 4-27 having led at the 1/2 way mark to the third bend. ‘Rosie’ clocked 31.27 (-10) 31.17 calculated when beaten just over two lengths by the Jason Heath trained winner Dacent Stride.

Glenvale Paddy showed up better in the A8 at 6-11 than in his recent runs and connections will hope this is a return to form. He held every chance and clocked 30.80 (-10) 30.70 calculated when beaten just under three lengths by Maid Of The Mill who is trained by Maria Collins.

Lobelia clocked a decent time in the A5 at 5-56 when clocking 30.49 (-10) 30.39 finishing runner-up to the Seamus Cahill trained Droopys Willis. Lobelia was beaten four lengths by the winner!

Swift Messi has been running well all year and he again performed with credit in the A6 at 4-08. ‘Lionel’ was only beaten 3/4 of a length when finishing 3rd after leading from the third bend to the run in. He clocked 30.70 (-10) 30.60 calculated behind the Seamus Cahill trained winner Coomlogane Frank.

The Racing Club had two runners on the card but they both failed to bother the judge! Longrange Denis (badly baulked) was 6th in the A3 at 2-47 clocking 31.38 (-10) 31.28 calculated fourteen lengths behind the Jason Heath trained winner Farran North.

Classy Molly was on the hat-trick but she was crowded at the 1/4 mark in the A6 at 3-28. ‘Molly’ clocked 30.79 (-10) 30.69 when beaten just over three lengths by Guinness Flash who is trained by Seamus Cahill.

Droopys Margaret was baulked at the first bend and crowded at the fourth in the A4 at 3-07. She clocked 30.73 (-10) 30.63 calculated when beaten four and a half lengths in 5th place by the Jason Heath trained winner Sarasota Pearl.

Swift Debbie has been in great form, winning three of her last four races, but that run of success came to an end in the A4 at 5-38. ‘Debbie’ held every chance but faded into 6th place, clocking 30.75 (-10) 30.65 calculated, when finishing five lengths behind the Ken Tester trained winner Maglass Brae.

July 2012 pup Causeiloveyou makes his Hove debut in the A5 at 7-46. He has moved well in his trials and looks a nice prospect.

Viscount Rambler was unlucky to be eliminated from the 1st Round Derby Heat where he finished 3rd. Sadly it was one of the Heats where only two dogs qualified! He faces some decent opposition on Thursday night particularly eleven times Hove winner Islas Scolari.

Glenvale Stevie was badly hampered in his William Hill Greyhound Derby 2nd Round Heat when Tiger Trooper fell directly in front of him. He returns to sprinting and is well drawn in the Maiden Sprint.

OUR SIX RUNNERS ON THE FRIDAY MORNING HOVE CARD

Friday 16th May HOVE Runners

Sizzlers Magpie takes in a sprint on her return from injury. She lines up in trap 4 for the D1 at 11-11.

The Norah Mac Racing Clubs Horse Outside is returning from a lay off and gets the trap 1 draw for the A7 at 11-57. His kennel mate Coolscart Hawk only recently returned from injury himself. The ‘Hawk’ is gaining his fitness and is running well.

Cellini is in good form and was not disgraced in an Open race at Sittingbourne last Sunday. Back at Hove Friday and runs in the A4 at 12-42.

The Racing Clubs Droopys Leonard returned to racing in May after a little lay off. He is in reasonable form and runs from his favoured trap 6 box in the A5 at 12-58.

Droopys Winnie is up in grade for a good win last Saturday night. She runs from trap 5 in the A6 at 1-44.
