LOBELIA WINS FOR THE SIXTH TIME AT HOVE

Winner

LOBELIA was the kennels only winner at Hove on Wednesday! The July 2011 daughter of Van’s Escalade owned by Ross Banner, Ted Lloyd, Jim Reid and Dave Staddon was quick away and always led in the A5 at 5-07. Sent off the 5/2 favourite she clocked 30.82 (-10) 30.72 calculated when beating the Seamus Cahill trained Guinness Champ a short head! This was a sixth career win for Lobelia and they have all come at Hove!

How Our Other Runners Fared

Athlacca Olympic was given a chance when dropped in grade but found one too good in a quality A3 at 4-27. He went to traps the 2/1 favourite and despite crowding at the first bend ran on well clocking 30.19 (-10) 30.09 calculated when beaten 3/4 of a length by the Doreen Walsh trained Old Grand Dog. Kennel mate Sporting Tracey ran well in 3rd place racing wide but running on well clocking 30.35 (-10) 30.25 calculated a further two lengths away.

Glenvale Rosie was slow away in the A10 at 3-28 and crowded at the first bend. With that her chance was gone and she finished in 4th place clocking 31.14 (-10) 31.04 calculated two and threequarter lengths behind Torbal Spirit who is trained by Wendy Short.

Coolscart Hawk held every chance in the A7 at 4-08. He was beaten just under three lengths by the Wendy Short trained winner Jebs Gamble. The ‘Hawk’ clocked 30.81 (-10) 30.71 calculated in 6th place.

Mikeys Guest was slow away and crowded at the third bend when beaten three lengths in the A4 at 5-38. He clocked 30.82 (-10) 30.72 calculated in 6th place behind Seamus Cahill’s winner Guinness Champ.

Boskill Breeze had ran well on her debut last Saturday but found trouble today in the A6 at 5-56 when baulked at the first bend. She was unable to recover and finished 6th clocking 31.13 (-10) 31.03 calculated some nine lengths behind the Ken Tester trained winner Tonduff Noddy.

Droopys Winnie was quick away in the A6 at 6-11 but she was badly baulked at the first bend. She clocked 31.30 (-10) 31.20 calculated when beaten just under three lengths by the Ken Tester trained winner Droopys Peppi.

OUR FRIDAY RUNNERS AT HOVE

The Norah Mac Racing Club has a strong hand at Hove on Friday with four of our runners competing! Hanover Lady is looking for her 25th career win while newcomer Longrange Denis looks to get off the mark for the Club! Droopys Leonard and Classy Molly are in good form so there’s a good chance of a Club winner or two! 

Friday 23rd May HOVE Runners

Hanover Lady and Sizzlers Magpie will both appreciate the ease in grade when they line up for the D2 at 11-11.

Classy Molly had won three out of her last four races previous to finding trouble on her latest run. She should go close with a clear run in the A6 at 11-42.

Droopys Leonard is running well and was not beaten that far when 3rd last Friday. Ideally drawn in six and should run well in the A5 at 1-12.

Longrange Denis got into all sorts of trouble last time and is better judged on his debut run. Good form in Ireland and sure to win plenty of races when he gets to grips with Hove. Runs in the A3 at 1-44.

We have two runners in the A5 at 11-28 with Causeiloveyou getting a drop in grade after his debut run last weekend. Ballymac Benefit is running well and is looking for a 17th career win!

Avit On Elsie has been well beaten in her last three outings but would have a chance on her best times in the A11 at 11-57.

Swift Messi has been narrowly beaten in his last six runs and always runs well. He will again give everything in the A6 at 12-42

Droopys Margaret is capable on her day and the trap 1 draw in the A4 at 1-27 could be a bonus!

Glenvale Paddy is up in class for his win last Sunday but lines up for the A8 at 1-58 in good form!
