There’s not too much new to pass on.  Unfortunately Gino (Horse Outside) was not clear of the anti-biotics in his system so his trial has been deferred to later this week.

Woody (Fleetwood Mac) didn’t get a trial at Sittingbourne and Norah intends to trial him at either Hove or Wimbledon later this week.

Rumble (Black Ace Mac) continues in physio for the minor shoulder injury.

On the social front we are organising a ‘Norah meets the members’ gathering. This could be on a Sunday in the next few weeks, near the kennels or at Hove stadium to coincide with the dogs running plans.

I will post further details once the date and venue has been confirmed.

It will be a more the merrier get together, enabling us to continue to put names to faces, chat about our hopes for the future and share thoughts. Also Norah will be able to outline medium and long term plans and answer any general questions that members may have.

Other Open Race Kennel News

On Tuesday (19th) Sizzlers Spirit and Broadstrand Bill race on the Sky televised card at Hall Green. Sizzlers Spirit is in cracking form and is expected to make a bold show for the cameras. Broadstrand Bill is also in good heart and hopefully can get into the frame. There’s no better advert for the kennel or the racing club than to have runners doing well on Sky. And norahmac club members will have their turn in the limelight in the months ahead too.

Zodiac Zeus runs in the semi-finals of the Puppy Derby at Peterborough on Wednesday(20th). The talented youngster has every chance of reaching the final but will have to put his best paw forward as only the first two go through to the showpiece final.

On Thursday (21st) Cals Patron and Rally Town take a ride up the M40 for a couple of Opens at Oxford.  At the time of writing Norah wasn’t sure that the races would ‘fill’ so check the Racing Post for latest information. Cals Patron stumbled at the traps last week but made up many lengths to take minor honours.  A sharper start would see the black and white go close. You heard it here first!

Norah plans to take several dogs to Hove on Easter Sunday, see the Racing Post or Greyhound Data, later in the week, for finalised running plans.

Steve Godfrey

It was quite shocking news for Norah, and several other club members who knew him, to hear of Steve’s untimely death last week. Steve played a pivotal role in sowing the seeds of the norahmacracingclub over the last six months or so.  An incredibly humble and gracious guy, he always had a word or two about the current racing scene, his own dogs as well as the dogs of  his co-owners in the various Burhill kennels.

His presence will be sorely missed.
