‘Princess Pati’ Is So Impressive On Return!
PRINCESS PATI WINS CLOCKING 30.05 ON HER RETURN FROM SEASONAL REST
Saturday 24th May HOVE Report
Winner
PRINCESS PATI returned to race action at Hove last night resuming from seasonal rest having last raced on the 19th January. The June 2011 daughter of Eden Brett had moved well in her trials, (16.45 over 285 metres on 12th May) and (30.21 over 515 metres on 19th May), and she bolted up in the A3 (Kerry & David Birthday Trophy) at 9-07 for her delighted owners Diane and Alf Benson. ‘Pati’ showed early pace and led from the first bend to romp home 2 lengths clear of the Doreen Walsh trained Cabela Holly. Princess Pati clocked a fast 30.15 (-10) 30.05 calculated when winning for the 5th time at Hove. It was a 6th career win for her as she has a win at Waterford on her Irish card!
How Our Other Runners Fared
The Norah Mac Racng Club owned Horse Outside is still finding his fitness after recently returning to action. He wasn’t helped in the A7 at 7-46 by first bend crowding and being baulked at the 3/4 mark. He was beaten four lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Ardera Nice clocking 31.06 (-20) 30.86 calculated back in 5th place.
Droopys Brody returned from a two month lay off and lined up in the A5 at 8-18. He was baulked at the first bend and crowded at the third when beaten just over six lengths by the impressive run away winner Coolavanny Polly who is trained by Dean Childs. ‘Brody’ clocked 30.85 (-10) 30.75 calculated in 3rd position finishing one place ahead of his kennel mate Fine Royal. Sent off the 5/2 joint favourite Fine Royal, a relative newcomer to Hove, was baulked at the first bend and clocked 30.95 (-10) 30.85 calculated in 4th place just over seven lengths behind the winner.
We had two runners in the A6 at 8-51 for which Droopys Winnie was sent off the 7/4 favourite. She had a good win on the 10th of May but had found trouble in running on her last two outings. Sadly that was the case again as she was crowded at the first bend. ‘Winnie’ was beaten just over three lengths by the Dean Childs trained winner Romeo Duty Bound clocking 30.94 (-10) 30.84 calculated in 4th place. Intayacynthia had promised a return to form after a couple of improved shows but despite showing early pace and leading to 1/2 way she was crowded at the third bend and faded to finish 6th clocking 31.10 (-10) 31.00 calculated just over five lengths behind the winner.
Collinstown View represented the kennel in the Owners Bonus Series Final (A3) at 9-24 but things did not go his way! Racing middle on the run-up he was badly baulked and fell at the first bend and was beaten a distance. He will be thoroughly checked over today.
Cause Of Justice has done his owners proud in recent weeks and this consistent greyhound rarely runs a bad race! He almost took advantage of the drop into the A2 at 9-41 but was beaten just over a length by Maria Collins winner Brittandy Boy. ‘Alfie’ was slow away but ran on well and clocked another good time of 30.25 (-10) 30.15 calculated when finishing 3rd!
Zara Two had run well on his return to racing last week, after a four month lay off, and is still gaining fitness. He lined up in another D1 sprint at 9-57 but was unfortunately crowded at the first bend. With little time to recover in sprint races Zara Two was beaten seven lengths by the Ken Tester trained winner Tunnel Tiger. Zara Two clocked 16.94 (-5) 16.89 calculated in 6th place.
