‘BIG BOY’ WINS! BUT DAVE & JOY JUST MISS OUT ON A ‘SIZZLERS’ DOUBLE!

Owners Dave and Joy Cook only just missed out on a ‘sizzling’ double at Hove last night! Sizzlers Big Boy took the 8-18 at a very decent s.p. of 6/1 and half an hour later their Sizzlers Magpie was runner-up in the D2 sprint at the whopping odds of 14/1. Our five kennel runners all went close to victory last night but we had to settle for just the one winner!

Saturday 7th June HOVE Report

Winner

SIZZLERS BIG BOY had run well on his last two appearances and was only beaten a head when runner-up on Wednesday. He went one place better on Saturday night with victory in the A8 at 8-18. The November 2010 son of Hades Rocket ran on strongly to get the better of the Wayne Wrighting trained Bellinter Rose winning by just a short head at the line! Owned by Dave and Joy Cook Sizzlers Big Boy clocked 30.76 (-10) 30.66 calculated when winning for the 5th time in his career. All five wins coming at Hove!

How Our Other Runners Fared

Sizzlers Magpie was sent off the 14/1 outsider for the D2 sprint at 8-51 but had favourite backers worried as she showed good early pace and led to 1/2 way. She hung on well and was only 3/4 of a length down at the line with the 6/4 favourite Rabbits Pier trained by Jason Heath working hard to justify the odds! Sizzlers Magpie clocked 16.66 in 2nd place on the normal going.

Graiguenoe Royal generally runs well and he did again on Saturday night! He finished 3rd in the A6 at 8-34 but was only beaten 1/2 a length! He held every chance and clocked 30.44 (Normal) behind the Maria Collins trained winner Swift Kidman.

Princess Jetta had taken in a couple of sprints recently, winning one of them, but stepped back up in trip for the A7 at 9-07. She ran a very good race to finish 2nd just a neck behind the Paul Garland trained winner High Hawk. ‘Jetta’ was never out the first two in this contest and led to the 1/4 mark. She challenged again close home but just failed to get up  clocking 30.55 on the normal going.

Cause Of Justice (grazed pad) was withdrawn from the A2 at 10-30 which left Princess Pati to chase the honours for the kennel. She ran with credit after being baulked at the first bend where the trouble had left her in last place. She did well to respond and clocked 30.25 (Normal) finishing in 3rd place one and three quarter lengths behind the winner Rise Of Fayjen who is trained by Jason Heath.

OUR KENNEL RUNNERS AT HOVE AND SITTINGBOURNE ON SUNDAY

FIVE RUNNERS ON THE HOVE SUNDAY LUNCH-TIME CARD

Sunday 8th June HOVE Runners

Ballymac Benefit was beaten a neck in this grade last Sunday! Should run well again in the A6 at 11-11.

Droopys Brody was off the track for three months. Ran well enough on his return but may just need the race again in the A5 at 11-28.

Watch Matt found trouble in running on Wednesday. He gets another chance to shine in the A5 at 11-42 on Sunday!

Forget the last run of Droopys Margaret where she was badly baulked. She is better judged on her previous form and the drop in grade should give her a chance in the A4 at 11-57.

Glenvale Rosie is running well and a drop in grade will help her chance in the A10 at 12-12.
