All out this Friday (3rd Feb.)…
Review
All the canine club members are due out on Friday so we expect a decent turn out of humans too – despite the cold snap.
The kennel remains on a high and all the club runners put in creditable efforts last week. Oscar (Lima Oscar) claimed star of the show status with his big priced but richly deserved A2 win. Wendy (Hanover Lady) led at all points bar the final ten yards and Gino (Horse Outside), despite losing his footing slightly turning the first bend, ran on well enough on his return to the track in what was, after all, a high class A1 event.

So Friday is a night of firsts already! The first time all four are scheduled to be out on the same night, three running at A1 level and two in the same race!
Wendy (Hanover Lady) is scheduled to run in the 9.00pm A3 (though there’s a squeak she may get moved to the Owners’ Bonus A3) and again has the pole position in the red jacket. Clearly in top form, she should still lead in a race that contains some other early pace and a couple of rivals that have slipped down the grades in recent weeks. A beaten favourite in her last two runs, she has an A3 at her mercy but does need a little trouble behind in this more holding winter going.
The club doubles up in the A1 at 10.00pm with Woody (Fleetwood Rocker) and Oscar (Lima Oscar) clashing. Both tend to put their best work in at the finish. It’s fair to say that Woody would have the better form but Oscar keeps putting it in and looks likely to have a clearer passage in a fairly solo wide line. That said by the time of this event it will be clear whether the salt for the frost will have caused a track bias. This is well worth factoring into account. It’s a broadly open affair (at time of writing) so it’s a case of fingers crossed.
Horse Outside (Gino), having been really highly tried either side of his lay-off benefits from a little leniency from the grader, taking his chance in the A2 at 10.30pm. A first for our black and white boy in that he wears the red jacket, and the majority of the major players middle to wide travellers, one can be excused for being hopeful…
Good luck to other club-member owned runners on the card; newcomer Roseville Maeve (8.00pm), Josie and Jack (if Wendy doesn’t win!), Rally Town (8.45pm), Cals Patron (9.30pm), Hurry On Jack (to be third in the trio with Woody and Oscar!) and Mwebe Hilda (10.15pm)
