There was only one sponsored race on Sunday’s sun-drenched lunchtime BAGS card and that old journeyman Oscar (Lima Oscar) made the most of a decently framed A6, holding off all-comers by a head on the line.

So the decent number of Norahmac supporters, many of whom had to find a way around the women’s Olympic cycle circuit, certainly had plenty to cheer as they celebrated their podium presentation.

Whilst beaten into fifth later on the card, Horse Outside did little wrong in his A3, suffering crowding on more than one occasion.

No runners on Olympic time trial Wednesday, and no club runners on Thursday evening or this Sunday’s Open card.

Friday’s lunchtime Bags features three club representatives; a D1 at 11.57am and Wendy (Hanover Lady) looks to have something of a favourite’s chance in the heat. Berthed on the rail, with a relative newbie on her immediate outside, our blue girl need only break cleanly to settle matters before the home straight.

Later on the card Lenny (Droopys Leonard) turns out in another terribly competitive A2 at 12.42. Our boy is running well at present without catching the judge’s eye. He’s capable of making his presence felt from ‘stripes’  given the rub of the green.

Oscar (Lima Oscar) seeks to double up, following last Sunday’s trophy win in the A5 at 1.12pm. Our black, who will be sporting  an unfamiliar orange jacket, will need to be at his best to make his presence felt.
