FIRST WIN FOR ‘ABBEYS ZENYATTA’ AND ‘SWIFT DEBBIE’ IS A WINNER AGAIN!

Four winners on Wednesday was followed by Two more on Thursday night and now a Friday Hove ‘double’ for the Norah McEllistrim kennel.

Friday 5th December HOVE Report

Winners

ABBEYS ZENYATTA was a good 2nd on her previous appearance and she confirmed that improvement in form when winning the D2 Sprint at 10-38. The April 2013 daughter of Droopys Kewell was having only the seventh race of her career and despite being baulked on the run-in she held on well to beat kennel mate Swift Messi by 1/2 a length. Owned by Michelle Chambers, Norah McEllistrim and Gaynor Renwick Abbeys Zenyatta was sent off the 6/4 favourite and clocked 17.12 (-15) 16.97 calculated for her first career win! Swift Messi ran another brave race in 2nd place! ‘Lionel’ was baulked on the run-in when staying on well and clocked 17.16 (-15) 17.01 calculated 1/2 a length behind the winner. Anmima Madam was slow away but finished close up showing connections there is better to come. She clocked 17.22 (-15) 17.07 calculated in 4th place just one length behind the winner.

SWIFT DEBBIE had not managed to win since completing a hat-trick back in May. But in fairness to the August 2010 daughter of Hometown Boy Nga she was off the track throughout August and most of October/November! Taking full advantage of the drop in grade on her return from injury Swift Debbie, the 3/1 joint favourite, led all the way in the A7 at 12-57 to beat the Doreen Walsh trained Greenisle Court by three lengths! Owned by Miss J. A. Maslin ‘Debbie’ clocked 30.90 (-30) 30.60 calculated when winning for the 14th time at Hove! Kennel mate Ballymac Benefit was sent off the other 3/1 joint favourite but was baulked at the first bend and clocked 31.18 (-30) 30.88 calculated in 4th place just over three lengths behind the winner.

How Our Other Runners Fared

Shyan Zippy was badly baulked at the 1/4 mark in the A8 at 11-07 and was beaten just under four lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Armchair Dvalder. ‘Zippy’ clocked 31.37 (-30) 31.07 calculated finishing in 4th place.

Droopys Bertha was slow away in the A8 at 1-27 and was beaten three lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Guinness Wonder. ‘Bertha’ clocked 31.17 (-30) 30.87 calculated finishing in 4th place. Kennel mate Boskill Breeze was sent off the 9/4 favourite but could only manage 5th place after crowding at the first bend. She clocked 31.21 (-30) 30.91 calculated when finishing three and a half lengths behind the winner.

Cause Of Justice bounced back to form with a good win last time and he ran another good race in the A2 at 1-58. A strong finisher he challenged from 1/2 way but failed by just a length to peg back the Wendy Short trained winner Droopys Johnny.  ‘Alfie’ clocked 30.51 (-30) 30.21 calculated in the runners-up spot!

FIVE RUNNERS AT HOVE ON SATURDAY NIGHT!

Saturday 6th December HOVE Runners

Speak Out Lilly is put up two grades for winning an A9 on her latest run! She is in good form but must defy that penalty in the A7 at 8-02.

We have two runners lining up for the D1 Sprint at 8-18. Glenvale Stevie has decent sprint form at Hove and returns to two bends after a 480 metre Open run at Sittingbourne. Sizzlers Eagle is a useful sprinter and ran a good trial after a months lay-off!

Release The Ace was a good winner of an A7 on Wednesday. He goes up a grade for the A6 at 8-51.

Miss McCann has found trouble in running on her last two outings. She needs a clear run in the A4 at 10-30 to show her best form!

Viscount Rambler drops back in trip for the D1 Sprint at 11-11 after four Open race runs over the Standard distance which included a success at Sittingbourne! Kennel mate Fairhill Frankie had a good win in this grade on his latest outing and should run well.

Coolscart Hawk gets a drop in grade for the A6 at 11-57.

Sizzlers Big Boy was well beaten on his return from a four month absence and may again need the run in the A9 at 12-12.

Cellini was well beaten in Open class at Sittingbourne last Sunday but will have more of a chance in the A6 at 12-41.

Classy Molly (A)

Classy Molly  –  Runs in the D2 at 12-58

If either of our two runners in the D2 Sprint at 12-58 are successful they will be ending a long losing run! Veteran Farloe Scolari is still running well although his last win was back in August! The Racing Clubs Classy Molly has been slow away on her last two runs and by coincidence her last win was also in August!
