SWIFT ‘Lionel’ MESSI – IS ON TARGET AGAIN AT HOVE!

Wednesday 1st July 2015  –  HOVE Report

Winner

Swift Messi (Lionel)

Swift Messi  – 29th career win for Lionel!

Veteran SWIFT MESSI was given a weeks rest after his win on the 5th June and that little break certainly sweetened up the September 2009 son of Hondo Black as he has added two more wins to his impressive tally since resuming his career! Going to traps for his 181st race ‘Lionel’ was notching up his 29th win at the seaside track when winning the D2 Sprint at 3-28 making it 3 wins from his last 5 runs!. Owned by the Glum Sinners syndicate he was sent off the 7/4 favourite and he took up the running at the second bend and stayed on well clocking 16.76 (-15) 16.61 calculated when beating the Seamus Cahill trained Sister Tootsie by 3/4 of a length! Fairhill Frankie was sent off the 9/4 second favourite and he held every chance when finishing in 4th place clocking 16.93 (-15) 16.78 calculated just two lengths behind the winner. In contrast to Swift Messi kennel mate Garrison Madrid is still searching for her first career win! She wasn’t disgraced though and held every chance despite finishing in 6th place and she clocked 17.00 (-5) 16.85 calculated when beaten just under three lengths by the winner.

How Our Other Runners Fared

Fanore Breeze was quick away in the D2 Sprint at 2-08 but when she was baulked at 1/2 way her chance was gone! The 5/1 shot clocked 17.26 (-30) 16.96 calculated when finishing 4th beaten just over five lengths by the Wayne Wrighting trained winner Bogcross Fish.

Granson Luca held every chance in the A9 at 2-47 despite finishing in 6th place and was only beaten two and a half lengths by the Wendy Short trained winner Katusha Kid. Granson Luca was a 5/1 chance and clocked 31.46 (-45) 31.01 calculated

Mineola Prof was slow away in the A3 at 3-07 and was always behind finishing in 6th place. Mineola Prof clocked 31.04 (-30) 30.74 calculated when beaten just over nine lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Droopys Thunder.

Getting a drop in grade Kilcommon was sent off the 5/2 joint favourite for the A11 at 5-22 and the August 13 son of Vans Escalade wasn’t that far off the mark! Kilcommon disputed the lead to the run-in and clocked 31.37 (-20) 31.17 calculated when finishing in 3rd place beaten a length and a half by the Paul Garland trained winner Newtown Whisper.
