It went down to the last race at Nottingham this afternoon for this years Bags Track Championship to be decided! And although Bobs Belter finished only 5th in the Stayers it was enough to give Peterborough victory over Monmore! Hove finished 3rd despite the efforts of Dean Childs kennel who completed a ‘double’ with wins by Droopys Roller and Droopys Tamara plus a third win on the day for Hove thanks to the Claude Gardiner trained Zulu Baran.

Longrange Denis could of done with the ‘extra’ 15 metres distance he gets at Hove as he stayed on strongly over Nottingham’s 500 metres closing all the way to the line! Bumped on the run-up and crowded at the first bend ‘Denis’ was well off the pace in last place down the back straight but he made a strong run off the last bend and was beaten less than a length by the Frank Gray trained winner Makeit Forirene. ‘Denis’ clocked 30.10 sec. in 4th place.

Princess Pati was crowded at the second bend in the Bitches Heat Division 1 and was always in rear there after. ‘Pati’ clocked 30.61 when beaten around five and a half lengths by the Paul Sallis trained winner Bleisce Charm.
