Beat the Book with Marc Yerquard (Wk9)
Welcome to our bet suggestion service brought to you courtesy of our man at the track – Marc Yerquard.
Marc’s selections are based on Hove form using his considerable depth of knowledge of greyhound racing.
Selections are not limited to any particular kennels, focusing on the Hove kennel strength overall.
FOR VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE FUTURE OF THE SERVICE PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO THE ‘COMMENT’ SECTION.
The idea is that if you are going to follow the selections stick to the plan.
1 The named selections should be backed no more than twice over the two weeks from nomination. If the selection wins first time then there is no second bet.
2 The latest date to back the dog will be given in brackets after the name and with the grade (or lower) in which it should be backed e.g. if A3 is suggested then A4/5 is fine too. A lower than expected grading will very likely increase the chance of winning but lower the SP – that is accepted and part of the staking plan.
3 The selections are to be backed to a level stake – don’t chase losses or run up profits.
4 This isn’t a get rich scheme but an aid to profitable betting.
5 Bet, off course, with a bookmaker that pays the Greyhound Levy http://www.bgrf.org.uk/contributing-bookmakers/
6 Results will be based on SP
7 This service is open to all to follow but once results show a reasonable profit, the service will only be available to Norahmac Club members via the website but on a ‘closed’ page.
8 There is no plan to charge club members for this service.
9 Selections will be added by Wednesday morning, weekly, with appropriate tally of profit/loss at SP to one point unit stake
10 Gamble responsibly!!

Comment:
Both selections last week won. Hanover lady (solid at 2’s) and Maireads Secure (2-1 to 7-4). This results in a six point profit at SP for month two. So the figures are becoming quite formidable, all proofed in advance weekly on this website.
- Four winners from last five selections
- 100% success last week
- a return on investment (roi) during eight proofed weeks in excess of 50%
Marc’s performance is spectacular, especially considering that SP’s can often be improved, either on the exchanges and/or early prices/ first show, providing an even healthier chance of a profit for those more committed. For example Call Me Millie 9-2 early price, returned 3-1. Several successful selections have shortened from first show, most recently Maireads Secure (2-1 to 7-4). Few drift.
The Serious Implication
Of course this is unsustainable. The more word spreads the shorter the SP will become on Marc’s selections. So, notwithstanding an almost certain reduction to the current incredible strike rate, a profit would be impossible as odds become too prohibitive.
This can mean only one thing. As previously explained the aim of having the selections available to the general public was to prove the ability of our ‘man at the track’ to, at least, suggest winners at a more successful rate than most of us could manage.
This promotion was offered to prove the possible punting success against ‘the old enemy’ that is now available to Norahmac Racing Club members, adding to the fun of ownership, track visits, kennel visits and social nights.
SO IT’S VERY LIKELY THAT THE NEXT MONTH COULD BE THE FINAL BEFORE THE MARC YERQUARD SUGGESTION SERVICE BECOMES CLOSED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
THOSE WHO ENJOY THE SERVICE ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO JOIN THE CLUB AS FULL MEMBERS.
THIS NEW SERVICE, ONCE IN OPERATION, MAY ALSO INCLUDE FROM TIME TO TIME, LATE INFORMATION (DAY OF RACE ADVICE) AND LAYS OF THE DAY.
MARC YERQUARD’S SERVICE REMAINS VERY MUCH ON THE BASIS OF THE GUIDANCE RULES LAID OUT ON HIS PAGE.
THE SUGGESTION SERVICE IS NOT DIRECTLY LINKED TO THE MAIN WEBSITE, NORAH OR THE KENNELS BUT INTENDED AS AN ADDITION FOR THOSE THAT ALSO LIKE A FLUTTER. SELECTIONS ARE TAKEN, BASED ON FORM, FROM ACROSS THE HOVE TRAINERS STRENGTH AND WILL INCLUDE NORAHMAC RUNNERS ONLY IN THE ORDINARY COURSE OF EVENTS.
KENNEL NEWS CAN BE FOUND ON THE WEEKLY UPDATED NEWS PAGE, OFFERING A GENERAL OVERVIEW OF CLUB RUNNERS’ ENGAGEMENTS, THEIR WELL BEING AND THE HOPES FOR A GOOD RUN. IT REMAINS OPEN TO ALL
