The night it all came right – Barney Curley would have been proud of us!
Quoting the About Us page on the website:
“And, needless to say, following your own team of runners focuses the mind as to when an extra ‘edge’ may be realised.”
And so it came to pass as paid up members were privy to ‘late e-mail’ information that suggested Gino was worth a proper bet on Saturday night! This was the first suggested proper bet so we’ve a 100% record and a level stake 2 point profit. This despite overcoming a whole host of challenges in our first six months. Unfortunately just reading our website news won’t always give a complete picture so don’t be shy in joining if you want to be part of a fun loving group who also know when the time’s right to put the money down. Our youngster clocked fifth fastest on the whole card to win his race, making the 2-1 (over 5-2 on the tote) rather generous, leaving the old enemy, both trackside and off course licking their wounds on a night when many norahmac club members hit back in style! I can report one member made over a ‘monkey’ linking the two club dogs with kennel winner Mwebe Hilda in a patent, whilst another with his brother and cousins (over from Ireland) clobbered his local high street bookie with a “right touch.” Just turned two this month, Gino pinged the lid and simply drew further clear of the field as the race developed. Never in danger, he won going away. Clearly, if remaining sound, Sky’s the limit! Not all members are bothered about a punt and so his exceptional time meant that we all have good reason to be proud. It’s taken a while and we’ve suffered disappointments but it’s all come good this week. Gino’s win has topped the clubs best week to date. On Tuesday Fleetwood Rocker returned to the track to trial, clocking a respectable (at least for a dog short of a claw!) 29.59 so he should be representing us in graded company later this month. Wendy (Hanover Lady) has won WGOA Bitch of the month for August on the back of her hat-trick of victories. So whatever the results on our Big Night Out (September 24th) we will all now be going for a podium presentation to receive a trophy for Wendy’s August trio of triumphs. And not to be outshone good old Oscar (Lima Oscar) gallantly held off the field to pinch his A4 on Saturday night at a working man’s price of 9-2! DVD pictures of these wins should be on-line within a week or so for those of you who couldn’t catch the action live. Gino’s win is pretty special and well worth watching! We’ve firm bookings for eighty people now on the 24th and we’ve good reason to be in great heart on the night as the club is really getting into gear on all fronts. This is just the first of many norahmactastic nights to come – be sure of that! If you know anyone who wants to join its unbeatable value, thanks to Norah’s genorosity, at £150 (from Oct 1st 2011) until March 2012, or £400 through to March 2013. Shares are limited as we will cap membership at fifty. |
