CELLINI has been running in sprints since her return from seasonal rest early in May. Her last win was in A6 grade in January and although she is never beaten far in her races Cellini had never won a sprint – until today! Sent off the 7/4 favourite for the D2 Sprint at 11-57 the January 2011 daughter of Head Bound showed good early pace and led all the way to beat the Maria Collins trained Our Swift Girl by two and a half lengths! Owned by the Norahmacjestic Six Cellini clocked 16.75 (-10) 16.65 calculated when winning for the 13th time at Hove!
Baby Gold – Off the mark at Hove!
BABY GOLD had a ‘troubled’ run on her Hove debut last week and was given a drop in grade for the A6 at 12-58. The February 2013 daughter of Droopys Scolari took the opportunity to open her account with a stylish victory! Showing good early pace the 4/1 chance led at the second bend and ran on well to beat the Wayne Wrighting trained Bellinter Holly by almost three lengths! Owned by the Jaytee Syndicate, headed by Jackie Thomas, Baby Gold clocked 30.74 (-20) 30.54 calculated when gaining her first career win!
How Our Other Runners Fared
Cause Of Justice almost took advantage of the drop in grade for the A3 at 12-12 running on well to gain 2nd place behind the Seamus Cahill trained winner Who Needs Class. A 3/1 chance ‘Alfie’ clocked 30.45 (-20) 30.25 calculated when beaten a length and a half by the winner!
Data Olly was made the 2/1 joint favourite for the A5 at 1-12 but like last week he made another slow start! Despite running on late he was beaten four lengths by the Paul Garland trained winner Coolykereen Bank. Data Olly clocked 30.74 (-20) 30.54 calculated finishing in 3rd place!
