Purchased for a crack at last years Springbok Razldazl Clyde never got his hurdling perfected in time and picked up an injury in the process. In her efforts to get him fit again Norah discovered he was a pretty decent sprinter! Resuming his career in mid-summer he won five sprint races – four D1 and one at Open class! It was always the plan to bring him back for another tilt and judged on last nights performance he has polished up his jumping as he hurdled brilliant! The race didn’t go to plan as ‘Clyde’ was slow away and he then maneuvered to the rails. Showing good pace to the first bend he was forced to check and shuffled wide! Seven lengths off the pace he headed into the back straight in last place but showing superb pace and tidy jumping he tucked in just behind the leaders at the third bend where he had to check again on the rails. At the line he was only a length and a half off the Winner! Sent off 2/1 favourite ‘Clyde clocked 30.58 on his hurdles debut. The race was won by the Tony Taylor trained Julius George. Despite finishing 2nd Ballymac Clea was disqualified for deliberate interference. She was bumped at the first hurdle but impeded the winner at the fifth hurdle and again near the line. ‘Clea’ clocked 30.47 finishing in the runners-up spot!

Any chance for Athlacca Olympic in the A2 at 8-34 was wiped out at the first bend where he was baulked and forced to check wide. ‘Ollie’ clocked 31.13 (-10) 31.03 calculated in 6th place when beaten twelve lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Killorane Comet.
