COLLINSTOWN VIEW TAKES FULL ADVANTAGE OF A DROP IN GRADE

Friday HOVE Report

Placed straight into Open company on joining the Norah Mac kennel COLLINSTOWN VIEW found life tough. He tasted victory in his first graded outing at Hove an A3 back in December. He has struggled to make the frame at the highest level since but took full advantage of the drop to A4 grade today. The Jan 12 son of Hondo Black was sent off the 7/4 favourite and despite being crowded at the first bend he ran on well to lead at the third to win clocking 30.60 (-30) 30.30 calculated. Owned by the Collinstown View Syndicate he has a Limerick win on his Irish card and was winning for the second time at Hove.

How Our Other Runners Fared

Cellini has not got the strike rate she deserves for her ability. She only just failed today in the A5 at 12-27 after first bend crowding she ran on to challenge on the run to be beaten a head! Hanover Lady, a 23 times winner for the Racing Club, was returning from a three month break and ran very well back in 3rd place! ‘Wendy’ held every chance on her comeback and clocked 17.09 (-20) 16.89 calculated.

Sporting Tracey “dead heated” for 4th place in the A3 at 12-58.  She ran wide but held every chance clocking 30.62 (-30) 30.32 calculated.

The Racing Club had two other runners on todays card but they both found trouble in running! Horse Outside was quick away in the A6 at 11-42 but was crowded at the first and third bends . He finished 5th beaten just over two lengths clocking 30.99 (-30) 30.69 calculated.

Droopys Leonard has been in great form recently but was well beaten today. From his wide slot he was crowded on the run up and baulked at the first bend before finishing 6th clocking 30.95 (-30) 30.65 calculated.
