As a prelude to Friday’s Christmas Cracker finale, Oscar (Lima Oscar) provides the appetizer for Norahmac members on Thursday’s card in the 10.30pm (A3). There’s some respite for our consistent journeyman with the grader relenting. Oscar need only run to his standard to be in the mix so fingers crossed.

It’s fair to say that the 830pm at Wimbledon on Friday is the biggest race to date for the Norahmac racing club. Woody (Fleetwood Rocker) lines up as a serious contender for the Christmas Cracker Final. A useful prize fund offers a £604 to the winner, £224 for runner up and £99 for turning up!

So with his heat and semi wins, Woody has enhanced the club coffers by over £300 in the tourney already so far – a decent month’s work for our fast improving blue – with the possibility of up to a further ‘monkey’ to come!

It looks like a tough ask given the frame of the race. As is usual Woody will need to survive likely crowding around the first bend. Additionally, sole wide in stripes, Leahs Dinkydoo, looks set for a solo and the daughter of  Droopys Kewell is more than capable of clocking a sub 29.00 run. She looks the one to beat.

Woody is on a hat-trick and given any kind of trouble free run is sure to be chasing them down on the run in. A night to savour in any event.

The feedback at time of writing is that Woody will benefit from a decent sized Norahmac club cheer. Members are likely to congregate above the first bend (Norah’s Knoll) for the race.

Wendy (Hanover Lady) completes our set of representatives, taking her chance in the concluding contest at 10.30 (A2). She gets the red jacket and is the one with the ‘early’ in the race. She can be expected to be leading them a merry dance for much of the race – will she hang on?

All three have solid each way chances in their respective contests. Win, lose or draw the night promises to be a cracker!
