Decimated strength & thru to 13/10
Review
It was another week of mixed fortunes last week. The graded strength is being decimated with any number of kennel runners returning home sore at best, long term injured at worst. Always a difficult time for us owners, Norah and the kennel staff!
The high notes have been away from Nevill Road with Razldazl Will (Sittingbourne Grand National) and Kizi (Belle Vue Scurry Cup) both winning their respective heats and progressing to the semi-final stage later this week. Fingers crossed they continue to fly the flag and maintain spirits.
The last five club wins; Lenny (two), Horse (two) and Wendy have been uploaded to their respective video pages – some good runs from these stalwarts and they’re still sound (at time of writing anyway).
An update on club runners; Dessie (Droopys Design) was injured last week and is now off for several months. Memories Leah is off and is not yet fully diagnosed. Lima Oscar and Hanover Lady are both resting from extended stints this year. Classy Molly is returning this week, having trialed in last week. Ferdia Oscar, Droopys Leonard and Horse Outside are all fit and on the card.
Transitions
In the weeks ahead, kennel followers of this website may notice one or two changes as we make a slight shift in emphasis. The kennel will be more the centre of attention with the club news retaining a large, but no longer central, presence.
Eventually the weekly updates will come more directly from the kennel. They will, therefore, be more up to date and broader in scope, discussing kennel activity rather than focusing on the club which will, of course, still be included in main news events when applicable.
Remember following on twitter provides almost daily basic updates of runners, winners and trial results.
Preview
It’s a busy night for Horse Outside who is entered in the 10.11pm on Thursday’s RPGTV card at Hove and Heat Two of the Sittingbourne Seniors at 8.36pm at the Kent track. Our white and black is likely to take the Senior option and a hoped for solid showing from trap three, with first three going through to the valuable final the following week live on Sky.
It’s a stonking card at Central Park, including the Kent Derby and Grand National semis and the restaurant is always great value for decent family fayre served with a smile.
Lenny (Droopys Leonard) stands in for Horse in the A5 (10.10pm) on RPGTV. Lenny’s in good heart and must have decent prospects returning to a level at which he is a multiple winner. That said there is penty of early in the contest and Lenny, with the orange jacket, will be vulnerable to likely first bend scrimmaging.
Returning to the fray over the standard distance after recovering from injury, Molly (Classy Molly) takes on A9 competition in the opener on Saturday at 730pm. Boxed middle in four, our September ’11 girl is running in her class and it wouldn’t be a shock for her to be in the mix, notwithstanding the lack of 100% full race fitness.
