Dessie Decks’em and thru to 30/6…
Review
Less than twenty four hours on the club strength and Dessie (Droopys Design) lands a knock out blow to his A7 rivals this past Sunday.
The September ’11 pup, very much continuing on the upgrade, showed decent early pace and retained a healthy lead all the way. This being only our blue brindle’s second ever competitive run, Norah expects plenty more improvement from our exciting new prospect.
Our other recent addition, Gilbert (Ferdia Oscar) is earmarked for a trial later this week. Norah is considering a spin around either Wimbledon, Peterborough or Sittingbourne, depending on practicalities.
Oscar (Lima Oscar) and Leah (Memories Leah) are both trialing over the standard trip at Hove on Monday and will be back in competitive action very soon now.
All the latest on trial results and running plans for the eight club runners and kennel can be found, daily, via our twitter feed. Click the link on the right and follow the sign up procedure. Well done to Cloheena Mickey who, next Saturday, lines up for the kennel on Derby Finals night in the prestigious Derby Plate.

Plenty of club action to get the juices flowing this midweek. We’ve three out Wednesday and another Thursday.
On the afternoon Bags card on Wednesday our trio kicks off with new kid Dessie (Droopys Design), boxed in trap four, contesting the a6 at 2.47pm.
The hike in grade could test our pup’s stamina limitations but the positive is that recent sectionals suggest he may have the pace to edge a lead by the first bend. Any amount of improvement on Sunday’s grand win will see our blue brindle go very close.
Next up Molly (Classy Molly) gets a chance to show her mettle, figuring from trap four in the a8 at 3.07pm. A repeat of her personal best on the clock last week gives her a leading chance in this heat. That said our girl isn’t too keen on the limelight, preferring to be the bridesmaid rather than the bride so each way may be a safer move, should she be a working man’s price.
Completing our Wednesday trio, Horse (Horse Outside) has a poke at the a6 at 5.07pm. Horse isn’t really getting into the groove of late so it’s with hope rather than expectation that he may trouble the judge. He seems to be just short of toe getting to the first bend so, from the red box, it’s hoped that he’ll avoid crowding and so be able to set sights on the bunny in the second half of the contest. Fingers crossed.
Thursday’s mixed Open and graded card, live on RPGTV, offers Wendy (Hanover Lady) another opportunity to come first in an Open contest. Our blue heroine, sporting the red jacket, lines up in a division of the Maiden Sprint Open at 9.24pm. In a motley line-up, Wendy has the edge on course and distance experience. Any kind of level break gives her an excellent chance of landing the spoils.
Horse Outside gets an opportunity for a quick double-up with a return visit to Nevill Road in the sponsored A5 at 9.41pm on Saturday.
On the bunny, Horse is a pretty fair tool and Wednesday’s race showed that side of our white and black lad, gaining superiority off the first bend and claiming gold in a smart time for the grade.
Again berthed on the rails, and again with the possibility of some space on the inner, it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise for Horse to trouble the judge. Fingers crossed. Remember if we’re lucky enough to win, all are welcome to receive the presentation. Don’t be shy!
And there’s more on Sunday’s matinee card as Oscar (Lima Oscar) returns to the fray, boxed in stripes in the A9 at 12.41pm. Our four year old is likely to need this after soreness kept him away from competitive action. So a watching brief or small money is advised.
