Young DRAGON OVERLORD had a superb Derby run! The pup went into the competition with just ten races under his belt! He produced a strong late run to grab 3rd place in his 1st Round Heat! In last place going into the back straight he clocked 28.73 calculated when beaten just over three lengths by the Mark Wallis trained winner Domino Storm. The July 14 son of Tullymurry Act owned by Joe Yelding was well behind in his 2nd Round Heat after a bump at the first bend and had it all to do to qualify! Suddenly Shutthe Backdoor  and Calco Flyer found trouble with Face The Blade badly impeded and our youngster took advantage of the situation to finish 2nd! Clocking 28.87 (Normal) he was beaten four lengths by the Hayley Keightley trained winner Hiya Butt. Sent off the 33/1 outsider for his 3rd Round Heat Dragon Overlord ran his heart out to qualify for the Quarter-Finals! Bumped on the run-up and in last place for most of the way he ran on well to finish in 3rd place clocking 28.70 (Normal) when beaten four and a half lengths by the Charlie Lister trained winner Boyneside Fun. He was 16/1 outsider for his Derby Quarter-Final Heat and produced another strong finish after a slow start. Clocking 28.99 calculated he finished in 4th place beaten just over eight lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Southfield Jock and his Derby was over! But he was back for the £1,000 Puppy Open race at 7-11 on Derby Final night! Producing his customary late run he kept on well to finish 2nd to the talented Bockos Alfie who is trained by Patrick Janssens. Beaten just two lengths he clocked his best time at Wimbledon, 28.54 calculated, and looks an exciting prospect over six bends!

WINNERS

RACENIGHT TRISH finished well clocking 30.71 calculated when beaten just a ‘short-head’ by Clairkeith Milly in an A7 on the 22nd May. Despite making a slow start on her latest outing the February 13 daughter of Head Bound ran on well clocking 30.70 (Normal) when 3rd beaten just over a length by Castlemary Ruby. Sent off 5/2 joint-favourite for the A7 at 9-07 she produced another good effort when running on well to beat the Doreen Walsh trained Inislosky Mull by just over three lengths! Owned by Norah McEllistrim ‘Trish’ clocked 30.56 (+20) 30.76 calculated when winning her 5th race at Hove! Kennel mate CAUSEILOVEYOU was sent off the 7/4 favourite when given a drop in grade on his latest outing and clocked 30.98 (Normal) when finishing 3rd beaten just under three lengths by Ardbeg Bella. A 3/1 chance last night the July 12 son of College Causeway was always behind! Clocking 30.93 (+20) 31.13 calculated he finished in 4th place beaten almost five lengths by the winner.

GLOBAL CHIEF was having first run for the Norah Mac kennel. The November 13 son of Milldean Panther has 3 wins at Waterford and one win at Shelbourne Park on his Irish Card! He clocked 30.82 calculated when 2nd to El Latino in a 3-dog Trial over 515 metres on the 29th May and was a 7/2 chance for his Hove debut in the A6 at 9-41. Showing good early pace he led at the first bend and kept on well to beat his kennel mate Rockmount Robben by a short-head! Owned by Steve Barton Global Chief clocked 30.58 (+20) 30.78 calculated when opening his Hove account! ROCKMOUNT ROBBEN clocked 31.43 (Normal) when finishing 5th beaten over twelve lengths by Lilli Mart in A5 grade on the 27th May. ‘Rocky’ had not been at his best recently but the September 13 son of Westmead Hawk benefited from the drop in grade and ran on well clocking 30.59 (+20) 30.79 calculated in the runners-up spot! DROOPYS CYRIC clocked 30.51 calculated when beating Aero Velocity by three lengths in a 3-dog Trial over 515 metres on the 28th May and the November 14 son of Tullymurry Act owned by the Norah Mac Racing Cyric syndicate was stepping up in trip last night! The young pup was sent off the 5/2 favourite but suffered crowding after making a slow start! However he was not disgraced in finishing 6th where he clocked 30.71 (+20) 30.91 calculated when beaten just one and a half lengths by the winner!

How Our Other Runners Fared

GELERT THE GREAT won 5 races at Perry Barr before joining the Norah Mac kennel. His last win at the Midlands track was on the 26th April where he beat Cill Dubh Rumble by 1/2 a length in A6 grade. The May 14 son of Westmead Hawk out of the dam Hesley Hawaii clocked 31.01 calculated when 2nd to Droopys Lemon in a 3-dog Trial over 515 metres on the 19th May and he was an 8/1 chance on his Hove debut in the A8 at 7-31. Always behind he clocked 30.83 (+20) 31.03 calculated when finishing 5th beaten just over seven lengths by the Derek Knight trained winner Maireads Ivy.

DATA OLLY clocked 31.02 (Normal) when finishing 2nd beaten just over two lengths by Ruthless Warrior in A5 grade on the 25th May. The June 13 son of Head Bound clocked 29.23 (Normal) when finishing 2nd beaten three lengths by Hyness Mill in a 3-dog Trial over 480 metres at Wimbledon on the 1st June and was a 4/1 shot for the A5 at 7-46. Sadly he ran into all sorts of problems when crowded and baulked throughout! He did well to run on late and grab 3rd place clocking 30.79  (+30) 31.09 calculated when beaten almost eight lengths by Blue Hercules who is trained by Derek Knight.

MARYS GIRL started well on her latest outing on the 18th May but faded to finish 5th clocking 32.10 calculated when beaten seven and a half lengths by Sprinter Spark in A11 grade. A 7/2 chance for the A11 at 8-02 the June 14 daughter of Razldazl Jayfkay ran a similar type of race and clocked 31.67 (+30) 31.97 calculated when finishing 4th beaten ten and a half lengths by the Ken Tester trained winner Rockandrollrandy. ‘Marys’ sister SHES THE ONE ran into ‘trouble’ on her last run clocking 32.21 calculated when finishing 6th beaten nine lengths by her kennel mate Boskill Breeze in an A11 on the 29th May. The June 14 daughter of Razldazl Jayfkay was prominent early last night but soon faded and clocked 31.69 (+30) 31.99 calculated when finishing 5th beaten almost eleven lengths by the winner.

TIMBERLEE LAD clocked 31.38 calculated when beating Ballyverry Angel by a short-head in A11 grade on the 21st May! Escaping a penalty the April 14 son of Blackstone Gene followed up that win on the 28th May when clocking 31.29 calculated after leading all the way to beat Ballydorgan Rose by 1/2 a length! Up in grade for the A10 at 8-34 last night he was a 4/1 chance to complete the ‘hat-trick’. Sadly he was baulked on the run-in after making his challenge around the last two turns and clocked 31.50 (+30) 31.80 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten just over six lengths by the Richard Rees trained winner Missile Command.

VISCOUNT RAMBLER endured ‘traffic’ problems and clocked 30.65 (Normal) when finishing 4th beaten seven lengths by the John Mullins trained winner Ascot Woodie in a Hove Open race on the 26th May. Previous to that run the June 11 son of Goldmine Ramble had clocked a very decent 30.09 calculated when beating Killure  Panther by three and a half lengths in an A3 on the 22nd May. Up in grade for the A2 at 8-51 last night he got not run at all. Baulked at the first bend and badly baulked at the 1/4 mark he clocked 31.38 (+30) 31.68 calculated when finishing in 5th place well behind the Seamus Cahill trained winner Cork Falcon.

LISTRY ACE was 2/1 favourite for a D2 Sprint on the 28th May but she was baulked at the first two bends and clocked 17.07 calculated when finishing 3rd beaten just over five lengths by Be Of The Bang. The October 12 daughter of Kinloch Brae who is owned by the
Norah Mac Racing Club needed to avoid any ‘trouble’ in running in the D2 Sprint at 9-24 but unfortunately she was baulked at the first bend. Clocking 17.13 (+10) 17.23 calculated ‘Grace’ finished in 5th place beaten just over seven lengths by the Jason Heath trained winner Swift Banzai.

DATA STORM clocked 17.18 calculated when finishing 5th beaten just over five lengths by Nellie Oleson in a D3 Sprint on the 22nd May. The November 14 son of Cashen Legend ran on well to finish 2nd clocking 16.97 (Normal) when beaten just under three lengths by Buffys Angel on his latest run and was a 9/4 fancy for the D3 Sprint at 10-13. Despite making a slow start he ran on well clocking 16.90 (+10) 17.00 calculated when finishing 2nd beaten just a length by the Tony Taylor trained winner Brinkleys Dipsy.

Newcomer EL LATINO made her Hove debut last night! The May 14 daughter of Droopys Scolari has a Waterford win on her Irish Card and clocked 30.81 when beating Global Chief a short-head in a 3-dog Trial over 515 metres on the 29th May. A 5/1 chance for the A6 at 10-30 she held every chance clocking 30.55 (+20) 30.75 calculated when finishing in 2nd place beaten just over one length by Perro Par who is trained by Jason Heath. Kennel mate COOLOGUE GEM had last raced when 6th to Cinematic in A6 grade on the 19th February! The November 11 daughter of Seventh Jet returned from injury to clock 30.56 calculated when 2nd to Celtic Ash in a 3-dog Trial over 515 metres on the 28th May. She had a rough comeback run when baulked at the first bend and crowded at the third! Clocking 30.88 (+20) 31.08 calculated she finished in 6th place beaten almost six lengths by the winner.
