How Our Other Runners Fared
LISTRY ACE completed a quick ‘double’ with wins over Baby Blueberry and Clever Buddy at the end of September. The October 12 daughter of Kinloch Brae finished a close 2nd, beaten just 1/2 a length by Express Cupid, when attempting to complete the ‘three-timer’ on the 7th October. CAUSE OF JUSTICE beat Crackaway Drama in the Bags Track Championship on the 2nd October but the January 12 son of College Causeway suffered trouble in running when beaten four lengths by Minnies Elana on the 10th October and a slow start was his downfall when 3rd to Starchill Oak last Friday. 5/2 joint-favourite for the A2 at 8-18 ‘Alfie’ stayed on well coming from last place to finish a good 2nd to the Seamus Cahill trained winner Southwind Kat. Cause Of Justice clocked 30.66 (-30) 30.36 calculated when beaten just a length in the runners-up spot!
MINEOLA PROF won two races at the back end of September beating Beardy Bess in A5 grade and followed up to beat Numero Oonah by a neck in A4 grade! Mineola Prof was baulked at the first and third bends and clocked 30.89 (-30) 30.59 calculated when beaten just over two lengths by the race winner Maireads Secure who is trained by Derek Knight.
BIG BANG clocked a brilliant 30.11 calculated when beating Melodys Dazzler in the HOVE THURSDAY NIGHT 500 MAIDEN Open race on the 1st October. But the December 12 son of College Causeway has since been beaten by Slick Society in an Open race on the 8th October and by Ballymac Loch in A2 grade last Saturday. Given a drop in grade for the A3 at 9-07 Big Bang was sent off the 6/4 favourite but after showing good early pace he was badly baulked at the first bend and beaten five lengths by the Jason Heath trained winner Drive To Dubin. Big Bang clocked 31.00 (-30) 30.70 calculated finishing in 4th place!
RACENIGHT TRISH ran well on her Hove debut on the 26th September where the February 13 daughter of Head Bound finished a 3/4 length 2nd to Wilbrook Panther. She was well beaten by kennel mate Sizzlers Apollo on her next outing but didn’t run badly when finishing 3rd to Invicta Justice in A5 grade last Sunday. Getting a drop in grade for the A6 at 9-24 she ran on well after making a slow start finishing a decent 3rd behind Boomtown Nidge who is trained by Tony Taylor. Racenight Trish clocked 30.93 (-30) 30.63 calculated when beaten just under three lengths by the winner.
ALL ABOUT EILE made a winning start to his career with success in a D2 Sprint on his Hove debut on the 19th September beating Rowfolds Topstar by a neck! The November 13 son of Kinloch Brae was beaten just over twelve lengths by Bubbly Bingo in a Hove Open race on the 1st October but back in D2 grade he secured another win when beating Ballinlough Boss by almost two lengths on the 11th October! Up in grade for that success he was a 5/1 chance for the D1 Sprint at 9-41 but he didn’t enjoy the best of runs and was baulked at the second bend. Clocking 17.15 (-15) 17.00 calculated he finished in 5th place beaten just over six lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Guinness Sun.
ABBEYS ZENYATTA hadn’t raced since finishing 6th to Droopys Maria in A7 grade on the 28th August but the April 13 daughter of Droopys Kewell ran well on her comeback in A7 grade on the 3rd October when finishing a close 2nd to Spirit Macklmore. Unfortunately she suffered a fall on her next outing on the 9th October and has been rested. She clocked 30.87 on her comeback Trial last Saturday and was a 4/1 chance when returning for last nights A7 at 10-30. Abbeys Zenyatta suffered crowding at the first bend and finished in 6th place clocking 31.30 (-20) 31.10 calculated when beaten four lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Get On Pippa.
