DROOPYS RIVES  –  his 11th Win at Hove!

DROOPYS RIVES won three D2 grade Sprints during July but the July 13 son of Westmead Hawk drew a blank throughout August! He clocked 17.29 calculated when finishing 6th beaten just over six lengths by Guinness Solo on the 24th August and he was sent off 3/1 co-favourite for a D2 Sprint on Wednesday! Baulked at the first bend after making a slow start ‘River’ clocked 16.86 calculated when finishing 5th beaten just under two lengths by Rock Of Kinloch. He was a 3/1 chance for the D2 Sprint at 11-28 and he got back to winning ways when leading at the first bend he kept on well to beat the Seamus Cahill trained Get On Joe by a neck! Owned by the River Seven Syndicate Droopys Rives clocked 17.00 (-10) 16.90 calculated when winning his 11th race at Hove!

How Our Other Runners Fared

GELERT THE GREAT clocked 30.56 calculated when beating Seanachie Girl by almost eight lengths in a 3-dog Trial over 515 metres on the 27th August and he lined up for an A7 on Wednesday. A 7/2 chance the May 14 son of Westmead Hawk was slow away and baulked at the first bend but running on well he got up to beat Wonkers Lad by a short-head! Gelert The Great clocked 30.77 calculated when winning for the 3rd time at Hove and was up in grade for the A6 at 11-42. Slow away and crowded on the run-up our 5/1 chance clocked 30.98 (-20) 30.78 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten three lengths by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Starch Hill Sid.

ASSERT was given a drop in grade for an A6 on the 26th August where he ran on well after making a slow start to beat Scala Spark by almost two lengths! The July 14 son of Skywalker Ace clocked 30.56 calculated when winning his 2nd race at Hove and was back up in grade for an A5 on Wednesday where he ran on well after suffering crowding at the fourth bend and clocked 30.67 calculated when finishing 4th beaten three lengths by Growling Violet. A 4/1 chance for the A5 at 11-57 today he ran on well after finding ‘trouble’ at the third bend and clocked 30.92 (-20) 30.72 calculated when finishing in 3rd place beaten just under two lengths by Dinner Osidge who is trained by Seamus Cahill. FLACKWELL SPIRIT clocked 30.63 calculated when beating Clairekieth Rico by a length in A7 grade on the 17th August! The June 14 son of Taylors Sky was up in grade for an A6 on the 25th August but was baulked on the run-in and clocked 31.05 (Normal) when finishing in 4th place beaten just under six lengths by Shed End Chelsea. Sent off a 5/1 shot for an A6 on Wednesday he led from 1/2 way when beating Trapper Charlie by just over one length! Flackwell Spirit clocked 30.95 calculated when winning his 5th race at Hove and was up in grade today. Sent off the 10/1 outsider he suffered crowding at the first bend after making a slow start and finishing in 6th place he clocked 31.30 (-20) 31.10 calculated when beaten six lengths by the winner.

KILCOMMON was given a drop in grade for an A9 on the 26th August and although the August 13 son of Vans Escalade finished in 2nd place clocking 31.06 (Normal) he was beaten almost seven lengths by Champagne Maura. Kilcommon lined up for an A9 on Wednesday and was sent off the 10/1 outsider! He showed good early pace and led to the third bend! Clocking 31.02 calculated he finished in 4th place beaten just under two lengths by Warnham Star and he lined up for the A9 at 12-12. A 3/1 shot he showed good early pace but his chance of success was gone after suffering first bend crowding! Clocking 31.40 (-20) 31.20 calculated he finished in 5th place beaten just under four lengths by the Richard Rees trained winner Elusive Pearl.

LISTRY ACE led all the way to beat Forever Man by 3/4 of a length in a D2 Sprint on the 20th July! Clocking 17.01 (Normal) the October 12 daughter of Kinloch Brae owned by the Norah Mac Racing Club was winning her 6th race for the Racing Club! ‘Grace’ clocked 30.95 calculated when finishing 2nd to Dinner Ashmole in a 3-dog Trial over 515 metres on the 11th August and she was a 4/1 chance for an A8 on the 20th August. Having led from the third bend she suffered crowding on the run-in and clocked 31.13 calculated when finishing 3rd beaten just over two lengths by Get On Pippa. ‘Grace’ was a 5/1 chance for the A8 at 12-27 and she led from the first bend to 1/2 way! Baulked at the third bend she clocked 31.48 (-20) 31.28 calculated when finishing in 4th place beaten seven lengths by Albion Calde who is trained by Jason Heath.
