‘EDO  EMPRESS’ PUTS IN A GUTSY EFFORT FOR A HARD EARNED VICTORY!

Sunday HOVE Report

Winner

EDO  EMPRESS  had to work hard to gain success in the A10 at 11-28 at Hove today! She was knocked back to fourth place at the first bend, crowded at the fourth and again on the run in, but still managed to get up and win by a head on the line! The Feb 11 daughter of Ace Hi Rumble clocked 31.04 (-10) 30.94 calculated. Owned by Bob and Paula Boswell the 5/1 chance Edo Empress was winning for the third time at Hove!

How Our Other Runners Fared

Lobelia disputed the lead and led from the fourth bend to the run in when 2nd in the A5 at 12-12. She clocked 30.65 (-10) 30.55 calculated when beaten just over a length. The chances for Classy Molly went at the first bend when she was baulked and on the run in when she was crowded. She clocked 30.89 (-10) 30.79 calculated back in 5th place.

Princess Jetta was also 2nd today. She was quick away and crowded at the first and third bends yet was still in a position to challenge on the run in and was only beaten a short head! Sent off the 9/4 favourite ‘Jetta’ clocked 30.70 (-10) 30.60 calculated.

Sizzlers Big Boy spoiled his chance in the A7 at 1-44  with a 4.43 split! The 7/2 shot was beaten less than two lengths and would have gone close with a decent break! He clocked 30.74 (-10) 30.64 calculated.

Poor Ballymac Kerry found trouble everywhere in the A5 at 1-58 today! She was crowded at the start and first bend! Then she was baulked at the 2nd and 3rd bends finally finishing 6th clocking 31.19 (-10) 31.09 calculated.
