Friday Hove Report

Friday 6th May 2016  –  HOVE Report

WINNER

BARNISH PETER clocked a decent 30.48 calculated when 3rd beaten 1/2 a length by Rustic Charm in an A5 on the 15th April. The February 12 son of Top Honcho was an unlucky loser in a ‘rough’ race last time! Baulked early he was crowded on the run-in and beaten just a ‘neck’ by Windy Santos. Clocking 31.12 calculated Barnish Peter finished in 2nd place and was a 7/2 chance for the A5 at 6-11. Showing good early pace he led at the 1/4 mark and kept on well to beat the Wendy Short trained Flagfield Lucy by two and a half lengths! Owned by Norah McEllistrim Barnish Peter clocked 30.35 (Normal), his fastest time at Hove, when winning for the 3rd time at the Nevill Road track!

How Our Other Runners Fared

GLENVALE STEVIE was beaten 3/4 of a length when 5th to Ardbeg Holly on the 20th April! The November 11 son of Paddys Flame was beaten again by that rival when they met in a D1 Sprint nine days later! Clocking 16.77 (Normal) ‘Stevie’ finished 5th almost three lengths behind the winner and was given a drop in grade for the D2 at 2-08. Sent off the 2/1 favourite he was crowded at the first bend and badly bumped at 1/2 way and clocked 17.31 (-5) 17.26 calculated when finishing 5th beaten seven and a half lengths by the Paul Garland trained winner Headford Poppy.

CAUSEILOVEYOU held every chance clocking 30.67 (Normal) when 4th beaten just a length by Janes Blaze in A6 grade on the 22nd April. The July 12 son of College Causeway clocked 27.49 calculated when 3rd to Mays Rainbow in a Trial at Harlow on the 26th April and was a 4/1 chance for the A6 at 2-27. He was baulked at the first bend and clocked 31.13 (-10) 31.03 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten just over five lengths by Liosgarbh Maybe who is trained by Derek Knight. kennel mate MINEOLA PROF got no sort of run on his last outing finishing 6th beaten just under seven lengths by Leaveitout Oonah in A5 grade on the 1st May and the ‘Prof’ was given a drop in grade today. Sadly the May 12 son of College Causeway checked badly at the second bend and clocked 31.98 calculated when finishing a well beaten 6th. He will be fully checked over on his return to the kennels.

ROCKMOUNT ROBBEN stayed on well to finish 3rd clocking 30.72 (Normal) when beaten just over three lengths by Westmead Senna in A5 grade on the 23rd April. The September 13 son of Westmead Hawk spoiled his chance with a slow break last Saturday and clocked 30.94 (Normal) when finishing 4th beaten just under seven lengths by Sneezys Magic. ‘Rocky’ was a 3/1 chance for the A5 at 4-27 and he held every chance clocking 30.69 (Normal) when finishing in 3rd place beaten four lengths by the Wayne Wrighting trained winner Alist Kattrina.

FLACKWELL SPIRIT showed good early pace and led to near the line clocking 30.96 (Normal) when finishing 3rd beaten just 3/4 of a length by Clairkeith Kiri in A9 grade on the 20th April. The June 14 son of Taylors Sky was unable to match that form on his next run and clocked 31.28 (Normal) when finishing 6th beaten almost six lengths by Beattie. Showing good early pace in the A9 at 5-38 he was prominent till suffering crowding on the run-in and clocking 31.35 (Normal) he finished in 5th place beaten almost eight lengths by Nods Lightning who is trained by Jason Heath.

Romford ‘Experts’ Lead The Way!

Hove Greyhound Tipping Competition

HOVE GREYHOUND TIPPING COMPETITION   –   GAME 20

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Romford ‘experts’ have made a flying start to Game 20. Alison Pemberton has gone just over 1/2 a length (5 points) clear of Mr Coral’s Roger Wightman. Competition Organiser Paul Johnson is tucked nicely in 3rd place! The bottom three are all ‘Hove’ ladies where we find last Comp winner Michelle Chambers still a bit hung over after celebrating last weeks success! Liz Zahedieh must have had her ‘ugg’ boots on instead of her ‘trapping’ boots and in last place is Krystyna Polubinska who came out the traps wrapped in her quilt!
Pauls view of the Week 1 action!
