FRONT STEP beat Suirview Boris in A8 grade back in January but she picked up an injury soon after! Out for almost four months the January 15 daughter of Ballymac Eske made a pleasing comeback when running on strongly to finish 2nd to Tyrur Celina last Friday! A 4/1 chance for the A9 at 6-11 she ran on well after suffering early crowding and got up to beat the Derek Knight trained Prokofiev by a head! Owned by Dave Staddon Front Step clocked 31.01 (-20) 30.81 calculated when winning for the 2nd time at Hove!

How Our Other Runners Fared

FANORE FLYER was 2nd beaten 1/2 a length by Liljaqs Girl on his latest run and the April 15 son of Vans Escalade was sent off the 2/1 favourite for the D1 Sprint at 2-27. Although making a slow start he led from the 1st bend to the run-in and clocked 16.73 (-15) 16.58 calculated when finishing in 2nd place beaten just a length by the Derek Knight trained winner Burnpark Vic.

BALLYSTEEN STAR was a 9/2 chance for the A8 at 2-47 but the July 14 daughter of Droopys Scolari was baulked at the 1st bend after making a slow start! Finishing in 4th place she clocked 31.58 (-30) 31.28 calculated when beaten two and a half lengths by Snowy Drifter who is trained by Maria Collins.

AVIT ON BESSIE was a 10/1 shot for the A7 at 4-27 but the March 14 daughter of Shaneboy Spencer found ‘trouble’ in running despite making a quick start! Clocking 31.36 (-30) 31.06 calculated she finished in 6th place when beaten just over eight lengths by the Jason Heath trained winner Droopys Madison.

DROOPYS CYRIC ran well to finish 2nd to Mannix Apache on his return after a four months lay off! Sent off a 3/1 co-favourite for the A5 at 4-47 the November 14 son of Tullymurry Act was always in with a chance! Running on strongly off the last bend he grabbed 2nd place near the line and clocking 30.83 (-30) 30.53 calculated he was beaten just a length by Dance Taylor who is trained by Jason Heath.

PALACE PRINCESS was beaten by Wildfire Legend in a Hove Open on her latest run and the May 15 daughter of Godsend was made a 3/1 chance for the A3 at 5-22 where she suffered crowding at the 1st and 4th bends! Finishing in 5th place she clocked 31.05 (-20) 30.85 calculated when beaten six and a half lengths by the Paul Garland trained winner Castlemary Ruby.

MARYS BOY beat Hamsteronapiano by a head on his latest outing and the June 14 son of Razldazl Jayfkay was sent off a 7/2 chance for the D2 Sprint at 5-38. Slow away he clocked 17.09 (-10) 16.99 calculated when finishing in 3rd place beaten four lengths by Northwest Bridge who is trained by Maria Collins.

TIMBERLEE LASS returned from injury to finish 2nd beaten a length and a half by Sky Dive last Friday and the April 14 daughter of Blackstone Gene was sent off the 5/2 favourite for the A11 at 5-56. Crowded on the run-up she finished in 3rd place clocking 31.70 (-20) 31.50 calculated when beaten three and a half lengths by the Tony Taylor trained winner Taranis McGinty.
