BALLYSTEEN STAR finished 2nd beaten just a ‘head’ by kennel mate Front Step last Sunday and the July 14 daughter of Droopys Scolari was sent off the 3/1 favourite for the A10 at 2-08. Leading from the 3rd bend to the run-in ‘Star’ was caught near the line and had to settle for the runners up spot again! Clocking 31.25 (-10) 31.15 calculated she was beaten a length and a half by the Jason Heath trained winner Stormy Quenn.
FOREVER MICK was withdrawn (lame) from the A7 at 2-27 and the June 15 son of Tullymurry Act was a non-runner today.
OBEY THE RULES last ran in a Hove Open on the 24th August where he finished in 5th place beaten just over six lengths by the Matt Dartnall trained winner Humphreys Pride. The November 13 son of Westmead Hawk was a 3/1 chance on his return from injury for the A5 at 3-48. Leading from the 1/4 mark to the 3rd bend before tiring he clocked 30.74 (-10) 30.64 calculated when finishing in 3rd place beaten four lengths by Woodmancote Lady who is trained by Claude Gardiner.
INDEPENDENT JACK was given a drop in grade for the D2 Sprint at 4-27 and the August 13 son of Kinloch Brae owned by the Norah Mac Racing Club was sent off the 7/4 fav! Holding every chance ‘Jack’ clocked 16.84 (-5) 16.79 calculated when finishing in 2nd place beaten just under two lengths by Ferryforth Dora who is trained by Tony Taylor. Kennel mate DERRYADD MARLEY was returning to Sprinting after a couple of trials over 515 metres but the August 15 daughter of Zero Ten was made the 14/1 outsider. Crowded and forced to check wide at the 2nd bend she clocked 16.98 (-5) 16.93 calculated when finishing in 5th place beaten three and a half lengths by the winner.
FRONT STEP got up near the line to beat kennel mate Ballysteen Star by a head last Sunday and the January 15 daughter of Ballymac Eske was up in grade for the A9 at 5-22. A 5/1 chance she was slow away and clocking 31.10 (-10) 31.00 calculated finished in 4th place beaten two and a half lengths by the Tony Taylor trained winner Key Tactics.
