‘Balibo Mags’ Is Caught Right On The Line!
FRIDAY HOVE REPORT
Friday 29th September 2017 – HOVE Report
BALIBO MAGS was beaten eight lengths by Gemini Sun last time and the July 14 daughter of Razldazl Rioga owned by the Norah Mac Racing Mags syndicate was down in grade for the A7 at 6-11. A 3/1 chance she made a quick start and led all the way only to get caught right on the line by the Claude Gardiner trained winner Smooth Brandy. ‘Mags’ clocked 30.93 (Normal) when beaten a ‘short-head’ in the runners up spot!
Runner-up on her last three starts BALLYSTEEN STAR was sent off a 3/1 chance for the A10 at 2-08. Crowded at the 1st and 3rd bends the July 14 daughter of Droopys Scolari finished in 3rd place clocking 31.39 (Normal) when beaten nine lengths by the Jason Heath trained winner Nods St Wilfs.
PALACE PRINCESS was withdrawn (off colour) from the A6 at 3-48 and the May 15 daughter of Godsend was a non-runner today.
SUMMERVILLE BOY was beaten just over nine lengths by Binky Blue last outing and the January 16 son of Taylors Sky was a 9/2 chance for the A11 at 4-47. Baulked at the 1st bend he clocked 31.83 (Normal) when finishing in 3rd place beaten nine lengths by Gloria Golden who is trained by Derek Knight. BALLYSTEEN SKY was beaten just under nine lengths by Clounamon Sasha on his latest run but the January 16 son of Taylors Sky was made 2/1 favourite given a drop in grade today! Sadly like his brother he too found ‘trouble’ in running and clocking 31.93 (Normal) he finished in 5th place beaten just over ten lengths by the winner.
OBEY THE RULES was beaten nine lengths by Dinner Arnos at Hove last Friday and the November 13 son of Westmead Hawk was given a drop in grade for the A6 at 5-07. Unfortunately our 4/1 shot was baulked at the 1st and 4th bends! Clocking 30.88 (Normal) he finished in 4th place beaten just over seven lengths by the Seamus Cahill trained winner Cloheena Layla.
DROMANA HERO was beaten five lengths by Brexit last Saturday but the October 14 son of Mall Brandy was sent off the 5/2 favourite for the D1 Sprint at 5-22. Quick away he led to the 2nd bend but although he finished in 4th place beaten just under four lengths by Brickworks (Wendy Short) he sadly finished the race lame.
